Default Huxley is going to be F2P?

Huxley will not offer cross-platform play, goes free-to-play

Someone tell me Huxley isn't going down that dark, F2P path.

Just because we've always had to pay (both for the game and the monthly fee) for a good game/MMO, doesn't mean that's how it should always be.

Huxley is a step in the right direction. We have a chance at a very good game with the option to put some extra money into it if we want to.

It might be a little shakey, but it's possible for this to be a stepping stone to more bigger and better games to start coming toward F2P.

-yes huxley will be free to download and free to play

Yea, I'm not really too worried. Mainly because I don't think I would be paying for Huxley if it was P2P anyways. My main problem with F2P is really long amounts of grinding, which wouldn't be as boring in FPS style combat.

My biggest fear is that the game will grow to have virtually no updates, half the players will be hackers, and the game will just all around feel incomplete. I'm still pulling for Huxley, but I'm not entirely sure if it can be as successful as I once thought.

Considering all the other stuff stuff run by ijji is free to play with microtransactions for support, I would think it's safe to assume huxley will be free to download and free to play.

The problems will start to arise as they sell upgraded weapons and supplies to players for money.

Since huxley is all peer to peer which seems to be ijji's obsession a subscription would be rediculous.

Webzen has said from the beginning that they want to keep huxley skill based.

And ever since they started planning on being free to play they discussed buyable bonuses such as exp. increases and items that look cool. NOT super weapons that ruin the game.

Hopefully they stick to their word

I trust that they will because premium items that unbalance the game are the main criticism of most micro transaction based games.... battlefield heroes did it right with only aesthetic items, and so did Runes of Magic with only convenience items (xp increase potions, permanent mount, and aesthetics)

Can't remember where I read it, but I seem to recall it being said that you would be able to buy things like a flat in your home city so you could store items. You didn't have to but would then limited to however much your character could carry. So slight edge gained but mainly convenience.
I hope that will be the flavour of the microtransactions.

I have faith lol.

Personally if huxley turns out to be good, (which it seems like it will) I'll definitely be buying some items to show some appreciation/support the game. Maybe a cool looking hat or something :D or a sticker to put on my gun!

Oh the possibilities are endless!

This game isn't completely P2P... Not to mention dedicated servers will be a must for the large scale battles. Everyone in the CBT should know what I'm talking about .

GM_Dak over at ijji said that micro-transaction items will be aesthetic and perhaps convenience only. They will not affect gameplay or cause any imbalance.

yeah cash shop would be good if it had cool, silly and out of the ordinary clothing. I wanna have a female assassin/sniper that wears Ball gowns and heels XD lust like i have on Saints row 2.....but considering the setting of the game I doubt that is a possability >.>

Well it's like guildwars, and guildwars is considered an MMO I think.

I'm waiting to see what they will have to decide if I'm going to buy anything ingame, or if I'll just play for free. Their free content will probably be just fine for me anyway.
