Hey everyone i'm getting a new pc from the dell online store, and I was just wondering if these specs would be good for online gaming such as WoW.
Processor:Pentium® D Processor 820 with Dual Core Technology. Memory:2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz- 2DIMMs. Hard Drives:250GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/ 8MB cache. CD:Single Drive: 16x DVD+/-RW with double layer write capability. Monitor:19 inch E196FP Analog Flat Panel. Video Card:256MB nVidia Geforce 7300LE TurboCache. Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio:Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio. The one thing I'm most worried about is the graphics card, so if anyone can tell me if that card is good enough to run WoW at decent quality please tell me.

Personally I would go with the new core 2's that came out. Dual core is going to be mainstream in the next couple years (IE everything is going to support it) and these processors are just plain nice.
Second, a new motherboard is going to be needed to support this. The 2 gigs of ram will be plenty as are the other hardware besides the vid card. I'm not familiar with that card off the top of my head, but what I suggest you do is go to www.anandtech.com and check out their video card section. It's a great place to find cards that are great but not necissarily that most expensive. And if you do pick up the new core 2's, dont go with the top one, the mid ones are just fine and much cheaper. (Make sure it's a 4meg not a 2 meg though)

Eventhough you're getting a new PC for another game I don't feel like this is the best forumsection to choose for this kind of thread.
*Thread moved* On another note I would have to say that I agree with Felix12g, if you can then go with a new Core 2 CPU. |

Hey, just trying to save you some money. If you are looking to buy a new gaming computer, try getting it built by one of the PC builder websites. I bought a "gaming dell computer" (they dont really exist) a few years ago and spent over a grand on what i thought was a good computer... However, I just recently built one for less than the dell, and it is TONS better. The company I used was addictpc.com but their are tons of independant builders out there (addictpc was just the one my friend suggested). I do not know too much about hardware, and in all honesty my friend helped me build it, but fill out what you would want to buy and see if it comes up cheaper. Just tryin to help.
