I havent noticed that many FPS games that need a really beefy CPU most are memory and GPU hogs an average CPU (by average I mean p4 2.8 or AMD 3000) should get you threw most FPS games just fine. Another question to ask is will huxley support dual core CPU's I know that Dual cores tend to screw with games like BF2 & FEAR, there are fixes but its still an annoying.

Anything and everything screws with BF2. BF2 was/is the biggest piece of junk code on the planet. It's fantastic when it works, looks beautiful, and the guns are un-realistic. Balance in the gameplay is debateable, but oh well. Needless to say i'm playing CS until Huxley drops.

CS has none of the balance issues that BF2 has. Maybe it's because there aren't any vehicles in CS.
In CS I don't CTD ever! In BF2 I CTD all the time. In CS I don't get lag issues and my ping is as it should be. In BF2 it lags all of the time and depending on the map it's unplayable for everybody and my ping is always on the high side. CS guns are unrealistic, but atleast they're predictable. Hopefully Huxley has none of these types of issues. BF2 could've been a great game and still can be, but not until the bugs are fixed. |

If you ask me, if it works niceley on a Xbox 360, I doubt you'll need an extremely over-clocked machine...Well, I play CS:S on a dell which I bought 6 years ago and uses a Geforce 2 gfx card >_< and I have another main desktop which holds all my movies which I made myself at the age of 11... I play most of my games on my laptop. I'm at the cross road atm however of where I'm gonna be playing Huxley...its either Xbox 360 or my new Desktop:

Well, I went to yahoo financial and looked up their converter, it seems that the current exchange rate,
3000 AUD = 2,278 USD or 1 AUD = 0.76 USD man...the prices in the US sound really cool compared to the crap they give us in Aus. It still don't beat Asia though, I found out a friend of mine came back and for the price I paid on this machine he could have got 2 back in China, although, carrying was abit of a pain in the ass, oh well, it gets the job done =D |

I have a 360 but il play it on pc because i want to play with my old gaming friends as well Currently i've got a fairly average AMD 64 3200+ 2gb DDR400 X800 256 XL However il be going for an upgrade this year and i cant be arsed to build one and have seen lower spec'd Alienwares dumping all over my higher spec machine performance wise so im going to bite the bullet and spend about £2000 (probably about $3200) on getting a high end Alienware, only I'll have to specify that it has 2gb as for some reason all their standard models are still 1gb only. At some point I'll also get Windows Vista so that all the 64 bit and duel core stuff works properly and probably before i get that upgrade il get a 20" or 24" (depending on funds) LCD display. Having seen the difference a 24" LCD display makes on a friends PC its certainly a huge plus, but im not sure its worth it at current prices, the 20" widescreen displays certainly seem like the best "bang for buck". |
