How to use Ventrilo
Hey guys! This the official Ventrilo guide for people who don't know how to use it. Hopefully, you'll know a lot more about the Ventrilo after you're finish reading this, er...thread. Guide. Whatever. Anyways, here's the guide:
Download Ventrilo here.- If your computer holds more than 4gigs of ram, choose this.
- For everyone else, use this.
- After you download it, run the Vent program.
Usernames
- At the top of the mini box, click the arrow beside "User Name"
- It will then open up a new box. Click the "New" button.
- Enter your desired username and press OK, and OK again.
Server
- Here's where it gets tricky.
- Under the username box, its another box!
- Click the arrow beside "Server".
- Click "New" and type in the desired server name.
- Beside Hostname/ IP, type in numbers like this: 192.168.0.102 (this is an example!)
- Under that, type in the port number. Here's an example: 3784
- Under that, type in the password.
- Click OK.
- Then you'll be sent back to the main Ventrilo screen. On the side, press Connect.
Congratz! You are connected to the Vent Server!
Talking
- Once you are logged into the Vent Server, at the side, click the setup button.
- It will open up a new page. On the left side, under "Play Key Clicks", you'll see the hotkey box.
- Click your desired button in the box to use it when chatting. (I personally use the End button.)
- Also, in order to talk, you gotta have a mic and earphones (although the earphones aren't required, but make sure you test your microphone before playing.)
Sounds complex, and it is.
Thanks for taking your time (or wasting it, if some dumb people STILL don't know how to use it) for reading this guide.

Author's note: I put this guide in the Off Topic category because I don't know which category to put it in, as this doesn't have anything to do with Huxley. Moderators, quote it in the right category if this isn't in the right one.
