checked the basic requirments and i noticed my cpu isnt powerful enough.

it 2.21 were as you need 2.4..

could it still run ??

Is it an AMD or Intel?

I think it will run anyway but generally I think AMD are better.

I believe AMD processors were better. New models do not stand out like they did back then.

Bad news for you jimbo but they also mean dual core also, not many modern games will be single core saying that i don't think there is any new games that use single core as minimum requirements :(

you can always get an aftermarket air cooler and overclock it.

or go the extra mile, get a inexpensive water cool from newegg and push it a bit more, at that price its better to just upgrade your cpu mobo and ram.
