Wondering what your thoughts are on this, is it better worse or the same , or can you just not tell the difference. Personally speaking i don't think the price justifies the really small difference.

I can't see why it should be worse...
First, I think it's important to understand what is DirectX. Quote:
Now, if you're asking whether you should buy a DX10 ready card or not? Well, to be honest, all the newer video cards will be DX10 ready. Plus, one important difference between DX10 and DX9, is that all the features are included in all the video cards (from the cheapest one to the expansive model). No more shader problems Personally, I think it's a great new technology, although it's going to be a while before everyone gets DX10 video card. Once that day arrives, we'll be seeing more quality DX10 products (games). Right now, game developers are including both, since the DX9 market is still out there. It means they aren't deploying as much resources as they could for their DX10 version. Read this page about the architecture difference between DX9 GPUs and DX10 GPUs. Also, on this page, there's two interesting screenshots of Flight Simulator X. The 2nd image is the DX9 version of the game, and the 3rd image, is their beliefs of DX10 capabilities. As ExtremeTech so brilliantly puts it: "The leap over DX9 is pretty dramatic". |

Yeah i'm aware of the images there handing out to show the difference in quality when you look at an image, But when you're playing the game with multiplue gpu's in game i can't see the difference i'm suppose to look for. I've got crysis yeah, I look at the DX10 version of the game on mpeg it shows me i can get blurred vision and realistic reflections from the sea and shows you the poor version of DX9 compared to dx10 on video. However when i boot up my pc with my crossfire X1950 dx9 cards and 3 gigs of ram i can do what there saying i can't do with crysis. Makes me feel there trying to scam the gamers in believeing this nonsense, Don't get me wrong i do believe DX10 is the way forward but like i said it feels more like a Vista scam more than preformance boost.

Indeed it may feel like a scam.
You have to take into consideration that games for PC are being developed in DX9, with the addition of DX10 (sometimes), hence why the difference isn't notable. In my opinion, we will start seeing a huge difference once they start releasing true DX10 games. |

I certainly notice a significant difference between dx9 and dx10
the problem is dx 10 combined with SLI and x64 vista, is buggy as all hell. Sweet sweet graphics but not quite as stable as dx9. if you are looking for the difference, build a multi boot pc, use xp and vista, load up crysis and crank it up as high as your computer can handle and you will see the difference. for this particular games, you cant even access the really high graphic settings since they are dx 10 only. difference between a dx 9 and dx10 render on a game coded for dx9? nothing you would notice. you will only see a difference if the game you are trying to play is made for dx10 and if your gpu supports dx10 |
