Hey guys, I'm going to be shopping for a new PC sometime in between now and when the game releases. I know enough about RAM and processors to get by in that department (bigger numbers are better). But when it comes to video cards, I haven't payed attention since the GeForce 4 was the proverbial shit, so I'm completely lost.
What I'm trying to find out is what do I need to run Huxley at it's full potential or close to it? How much video RAM Am I most likely going to need? What's the difference between models? What do all these 4 digit numbers mean? Anything else? Thanks for your time.

It's all dual now baby, exciting time. If you can't use two it aint modern, Either pick up the new sli cards or Latest ATI cards. I'm running two ATI X1950 Radeon cards at 512mb which you can pick up real cheap on e-bay, i run it with a dual crossfire chipset (motherboard). I would recommend the Intel compatible cards which are the SLI brand but if you're running AMD then opt for the ATI Catalogue. But Intel's the hot ticket this year.
I would recommend Dual intel quads with dual sli cards running with ddr2 ram, well thats the system i would get if i could afford it :(

I personally don't like duel video cards, yes it brings some great performance in some areas. But cost wise you should just get the best video card out on the market and then keep going from there instead of throwing away two video cards later on.
Minimum Requirements - CPU - Pentium 4 2.4GHz Single Core processor or AMD equivalent System RAM - 1GB Video Card - Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 128MB RAM (NVIDIA 6600 or better/ATI X1300 or better) Sound Card - 100% direct X 9.0c compatible sound card Windows XP or Windows Vista Hard disc space - 6GB free space Recommended Requirements - CPU - Intel P4 3.0ghz processor or AMD Equivalant System RAM - 2GB Video card - DX9 - Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 256MB RAM (Nvidia Geforce 7600 GT or ATI equivalent) DirectX10 - 8800 GTS Sound Card - 100% direct X 9.0c compatible sound card Windows XP or Windows Vista

Yeah but they don't always mean more graphics, certain brands act how processors act with 1 core doing something and the other core doing something different entirely. Like the crossfire cards, One would render graphics and the other would work on physics, Collisions and code and just keep everything generally cool instead of having to over clock the one card.
