My final question before I uprgrade my computer is about wireless cards. My computer is pretty old, I got it secondhand from a family friend, and he said it would be good for anything I wanted to do with it. Turns out he was wrong, because my computer sucks. So, since the rest of my computer is bad, I might as well ask, is this wireless card any good?

IEEE 802.11g wirlesscardbus/PCI adapter

That's what I have, and my internet connection has always been really bad, so I'm guessing it is not very good, is it?

Normally I would say all wireless cards suck... espesially for a FPS because they cause unexpected lag. They lose a lot more packets then if you were wired in. Losing packets = higher ping. Higher ping = chances of losing a battle. Mostly because in a battle situation there is a lot of data going through. (Hitpoits, bullet positions + velocity, character positions + velocity, any type of CoF data and random number generations. etrc. etc.) I would say stay away from wireless cards unless you have a choice. Even a 100+ foot ethernet cable that runs over house carpets are much more preferable in my opinion. (you can always disconnect it when you are off the game because other then for gaming wireless cards are alright.)

If you are going wireless for gameing... MAKE SURE YOUR WIRELESS NETWORK IS SECURE... there are a lot of wireless leechers out there
