Just thought I would let everyone know I am now running Vista and it is super slick.
Windows Mail is a great replacement for the old Outlook Express that is for sure. I have not run into any problems atall, everything so far is running on it without any issues. I got the Ultimate 64bit edition OEM. It would be cool to know if any others in this community has made the step to Vista and if so what do you think. |

Don't get me started on vista.
It needs 512mb ram running nothing but the desktop. All it is is XP with flashy features thrown on top. I'll rant more later.

true on the face thats all it appears to be, but the reason it causes problems is because it is completely different to XP, not just because M$ never release an OS stable etc, though im running 32bit Vista Business (MSDNAA version so choice) and havent run into any issues bar the odd game not running due to the game being very pedantic about how it accesses the RAM and drivers

I have windows Vista myself, running off Dual 64-bit... I don't have any problems with games, but older versions of Maya and some other various graphics programs it seems to have trouble running, the non 64-bit versions of maya consider the memory to be "unstable" and forces the application to close down, but aside from that runs swell. Though I had intended to wait till Huxley for the upgrade but... got tired of lagging on Oblivion, my older machine was 2 years old anyway.

Now I'm not sure if I should get a vista from all this ranting. Is there any good aspects about the vista?
Also, is it just me or does vista sound like an old folks condo in miami. |

Dude you don't need your posts seperated by *Censored Word* whenever you post. It just makes you sound less smart.
I agree though, I had the Vista beta (totally legit got it in its open stages) and it was unbearable. I turned it off but for those of you who use other Microsoft products in concert with an OS shouldn't because of the high levels of malware that exist for your software config.

Ok you want good aspects? Well all of the "new" and "innovative" things Microsoft did came from Mac OS X. The only thing Vista has going for it is that it's new. I don't think its terribly stable, which is why I'm sticking with XP.

you guys are rediculous. its not the OS fault because you dont know how to use it. all the compatability problems are because companies havent come out with good drivers yet, not MS fault. its a memory hog but its the same with any new OS.
no reason to upgrade an old computer to Vista, just stick with XP or whatev. If your getting a new computer, would be silly to not get vista. the real reason to go to vista is DX10, everything you have heard is true, vista + DX10 vidcard = next generation stuff. even a 2-300$ dx10 card will blow away $600 7800GTXs on the new games coming out. tons of games have been put off until vista and dx10 cards are out there, its probably a big reason why Huxley was orginally set for late 06 has been moved back. they can just do so much more with DX10, its the future and like it or not Vista is part of that. the biggest downside is that i will actually have to buy it... :( |
