I've played Planetside when it came out, and I know how that game's mechanic works. No offense but you should thoroughly read people's posts before you rebuttal. The topic of this post is just people coming up with ideas of what racial traits there MIGHT be. No one knows how deep and complex they intend to make this game, I was merely suggesting how difficult it would be for them to balance out racial traits (notice the use of IFs and ASSUMEs in the previous post). I would be fine if the game just had similar game mechanics as planetside but it would be great if they added some other mechanics as well.

Planetsides level progression is spot on IMO, i hope Huxley is going along similar lines.

Higher level in a shooter wont =god mode but it will give you a much betyter selection of tools to use, its still up to you to pick the right one and be able to aim it at all.

Maybe not very UT-ish, but i hope they restrict the number of weapons you can carry, this would fit in with a PS style levelling nicely. That then leads to playere knowledge in his weaponloadout, bring a sniper rifle to a CQB and you'll regret it etc. Not saying just one weapon btw, just not being able to carry every gun in the game.

yea that would be good. Like heavier armor lets you carry my gear. just like in planetside. But it would definatly be nice if there was more of a selection

They will probably have "powers" like running faster, running quieter, wielding a snipe with more efficiency, etc.

REALISTIC things like that

I doubt that's a Syn. It gives off that impression that she's a Syn because she's controlling a bunch of hybrids attacking a bunch of Alteravers. However I'm quite sure that dude at the very end is a One Phantom getting ready to pop her considering the menacing look he has.

So she's probably some kind of hybrid queen telling a bunch of other hybrids to wreak havoc.

That makes tons more sense to me than a Syn controlling hybrids.

I've already decided on being a Syn Phantom and I hope that's not our power because it just seems overpowered.

I don't think the Syn's "powers" will be able to stop bullets in their tracks, but mind control does sound good though.And according to HuxleyGame.com the leveling up system will not affect the player but instead it will increase the types of "Licenses" that a player can get. Licenses allow be player to improve their equipment and weapons.The system was designed to allow noobs the chance to beat the other "experienced" players

Well their powers will either me little magic or quick gain of skills or something. Maybe their powers will be to heal and such who knows.

Was it an Alternix? I think it was a Syn because there was a Sapien One behind her. In the video that I saw the hybrids were attacking the Alteravers, so an Alternix couldn't be the one with the mind control powers. Anyway I'm interested in the way that their mind control would work whether it affects all hybrids (like those humanoids) or just the low soldier class mutants.

Running on walls for short periods of time (max 2,5 secs)
Increased run speed (maybe a type of sprint ability)
Extra high jumps (50% higher or summin')

I think these are the kinds of abilities Syn will have, since they're discribed as agile++.

well seeing as im going to be a syn i think that a little mind control power is nice...but it shouldnt be for a full damn horde of stabby crawly guys...maby one or two you can control and make them stab the rest of the horde before they die....kinda like a Jedi mind trick ability. Though if it is that ability it should only be attain able at very high levs
