im just wondering what guns a phantom will be able to use (besides snipers). If youd like take a guess at what class im going to be when the game comes out... Also what vehicle do you think would be best for a phantom to use.

I'd go with a small quiet quick vehicle or hover craft to find potential snipe spots and withdraw quickly from a battle. I'm betting we'll be able to use side arms so I'm hoping for either a powerful pistol (Desert Eagle) or a small smg (MP5K). I'd prefer the pistol.

or, the phantoms can have a sword and sniper rifle? so they are deadly at close range and long range, they are assasins, so they should be deadly at all range with cloaking ability... but low health.

I agree with alpha the phantoms would be good at close and long range but rubbish at medium. and plus i think that phantoms would be best with a hover bike or somthing like that.
plus did anyone think your weapons might be effected by the race you are |

don't make phantoms good at close range, isn't that what the enforcer class is? phantoms will have good sniper skills, cloaking and proberly run quite fast with their light armor, giving them a sword would be overkill. the enforcers need that close combat skill, sure they have heavy weapons, but they will proberly be slow and it would look silly to see some skinny little sniper cutdown a giant. basically phantoms would just be too good, and class balance is too important. and since phantoms are meant to go around killing leaders, they wouldn't risk their lives with messy close combat, they'd sit back and pick em off from a safe distance.

Maybe not a sword, but a knife/dagger. I also think if they get a sidearm..which they should, should possibly have an optional suppressor attachment, I think the heavy guys should get a bayonett type attachment...

That would be... interesting. I want a PSG like gun (higher rate of fire + accurate) and an AUG for closer range.

If Phantoms get a bayonet that would be unfair they have good sniper skill and are meant to be at a far distance or sneaking around. Enforcers are the close range combat class if phantoms get a melee weapon it should be something small like a knife that isnt as powerful as a bayonet. The only other class that I beleive should get a bayonet is Avengers.

Phantoms should have
increased speed (light armor) sprint ability camo (close to invisibility even with running) bonuses to site better aim (less spread with nearly any gun) small but powerful sidearm (deagle or glock) long range slow firing rifle medium/ long range w/ higher rate of fire but lower damage (AUG) fully customizable guns (configure sight and what not) thats what I'm looking for in a sniper

i agree with zeekgenaterr but also only certain sniper scan have certain scopes and sum snipers cna have bipods to maximize aim like very little or no shake and it takes time to set up like 10 second to put toghtehr and put away also they should have sum future version or a mp7 or maybe a advanced modern crosbow with maybe poisonius tips or exploise ther should also be ammo types like depletied uranium hollow point and u must buy amoo for everygun or take bullets from a dead solider like if they die u may steal ther armor etc... range is goin to be kikass

Ya it's a lot harder to snipe than just spray and pray (which, I guess, is what you are supposed to do with a SMG). It takes practice to snipe in every game cause the feel is different. I just hope I can get my sniping ability up in Huxley.

Well i mean like Halo 2 sniping was the easiest thing to get used to because is was an instant headshot. However, gears of war sniping is very difficult because A) Lag B) ppls heads are small and C) you gotta lead weird amounts. I hope it's alot like Halo 2 sniping cause i was good at that. I'll probably end up buying the PC version if i get a fast enough PC then testing how good i am.
