I personally think that knifing should be like Farcry. You can kill them with a few hits to the front and if you're coming up behind them stealthed, you can just totally own them by like stabbing your knife through the back of their head, and then watch the blood come pouring out. And I think Phantoms could have a kick ability to, or at least should. Think about it, you and an Enforcer and going Rambo, and you the Enforcer hits you with his gun, you stab him and the fight goes on like this but you are so 1337 that you own him, stab him, he falls to his knees, and then you just boot his head and watch it explode into a million pieces. Or you could have a special attachment on your boots that's like some type of plasma shield, like where a steel toe would be in a boot, and when you kick them it would burn through their armor, hurt them, possibly stagger. And would it not be awesome to be able to cloak, sneak up behind another enemy Phantom that's being a retard and sniping in a position not easily noticed but easily accessible, walk up behind him and..."Let us examine your brains!"
P.S. - I like to make long posts |

This was done in tribes 2, where a cloaker had a faint air-disturbance around them. excepy it was done using a mostly transparent texture applied in place of the skin. the problem is that textures are stored in each respective player's computer, people would extract the cloak texture from the files and replace it with something opaque that made cloakers stand out. they eventually changed the scripts to make cloakers completely invisible except to motion sensors and people with jamming packs. for balance they made the cloak pack use more energy. id agree with infared goggles or something of that sort. at the price of a license of course |

I think Phantoms should have movement-based stealth, e.g. - If you're running you'll be slightly camouflaged, slow walking you would be camouflaged, and crouch walking would make you completely invisible, and radars would only be able to detect up to slow walking, otherwise that's completely demeaning to the Phantoms ability to have camo at all.

No air strike, I had enough of that BS in the CoD series, the noobs pick scout class, hide, when they get the strike, use it, get crap loads of kills, and then hide again.

it's not cheap, its a good strategy.
when a game has mines, its every players responsibility to watch where they step unless they enjoy being blown apart. and when ur sneaking up behind someone who looks like they have set up camp to snipe, u should have a heightened awareness of things like mines. |

I think that there shouldn't be an air strike ability, it should be more like you can call someone who has a license to fly a plane, then they come in a strafe the battlefield for a while. And with mines, i think that the ground should look like it's be altered, like it's slightly more brown than the green grass around it, and that's how you spot mines.

You have a point there, but for us less ignorant(I admit not totally unignorant), we may need ways to spot mines before we step on them, be obliterated, and the sky rains body parts for the rest of the day.
