I think they said that you will be able to get any weapon you want, regardless of class, as long as you have a liscense. So, when I start playing, I'll get both a sniper rifle liscens and a assualt rifle liscense, then I'll be set.

Im not really sure where you get your liscense theory from but I am not sure that liscenses are required for everything...(regardless of the fact that they don't seem to be a good idea in the first place). It would be a hassle, and how would you get them in the first place? And how many could you have? If there were no limist, then why not just get all of them? I have not heard of liscenses and am not looking forward to hearing of them in the future...

Im not too keen on the idea but then again I haven't even played the game yet. Still...i just thought that at a certain level you could use a better weapon, just like in WOW. That seems a little too complicated...

Its a good mechanism to keep players playing and reward players for good performace with something other than being at the top of the kill scoreboard at the end of every match.
It's a concept similar to planetside with certs and battle ranks but huxley takes it a step further. |

I have never heard of Planetside but I keep hearing about it in reference to Huxley so I guess there are some similarities.
I guess Liscense points will be similar to currency... |

Not at all. You start out with a number of license points which you use to build the basis of your character (Enforcer=close range weaps Avenger=Med range, healing etc..) Then every level or every few levels, you get more license points to use on new stuff to expand your character's usefulness. There is a possibility that you can pay to change your license points around and there could be a skill tree involved (like WoW's trees with fire mage frost mage, etc). This is all a guess, but most likely true.

Well with currency you can trade it, I see it like fixed number of things you can spend. Like possibly a gamecard at a Dave & Busters or ESPN zone or some other arcade game joint.

Ya, like zeek said, Huxley currency(which is confirmed to be in the game) is totally different from liscence points. You get liscences to use vehicles and weapons, while you use currency to buy the vehicles and weapons.

yea, its pretty much as they said...
when you make a charactor, you start off w/ a light assault rifle, the light assault rifle liscence, and maybe a few items/starter cash. you progress and build twards your preference.(as in, you could be a phantom w/ heavy armor, a rocket launcher, and a sniper rifle) from the information webzen DID release, you can carry 5 weapons slots, however, we do not know weather bigger weapons take up more slots or not. |

I don't care much about guns if I can cloak and have a knife in my hand. Now, guns are nice and all, but I feel that variety and flexibility are going to be very very important for this class. Sure, we will be lightly armored and faster, but that can't be the only thing we have when going face to face with tanks and etc. Mastering in placed explosives and traps is something to look into. If an enemy patrol was walking through a small area of the city, I garuntee a nicely placed cluster of bombs will do the trick, helping save your teams lives and ammo.

Licenses won't matter to me much.
I like to play...err...differently. Exploring, watching fights, and PvE is what I'm really looking forward to. PvP is going to be good, but I've always wanted to go into dungeons with friends and shoot it up. PlanetSide did not give me that, and I canceled my account after about 3 weeks because it was too repetitive. You see, the abilitys will matter more than the weapon. Have a noob with a shotgun, or a pro with a knife?

In an interview i read webzen said something like this: every class will be able to use all kind of armour and weapon but for example an enforcer needs only 1 licence point so he can use a chain gun compared to a phantom witch have to give away 3 licence points in order to use the same gun.
I dont think this licence points will accumulate so easy and a phantom will not concede 3 of his licence points for a heavy close combat weapon instead of rising his sniping power. Beside only 3 licence points will not make too much of a difference since i have to upgrade continuos to keep same rapport of firepower/level. In conclusion a phantom may use a rocket launcher but with an insignificant firepower so he'd rather use his pistol to be more efficient. About big swords for close combat, this is a damn FPS game not RPG. I doubt some character will fall from the sky and slash all his surround enemies.
