It's a retardi (atari) game that had such a huge potential to be big, bigger then UT. Anywa, it's like UT so you gotta dodge but these are longer dodges, and wall jumps that are further/higher.

I doubt we can actually define exactly what are the different types of gamers. Of course, some are more skilful with the mouse, while others have quicker reflexes. Although, every gamer, even fatal1ty (I'm sorry if I mispelled it) wasn't born a pro gamer. It is something you acquire throughout practice, whether you achieve it in days, weeks or even months, you can have that title as well. The period of time in which you "acquired the title" doesn't have any impact on it, since in the end, you achieved it. Someone good at several games will probably never be as good as one practicing only on one game. Of course, there are always exceptions. Also, you'll notice that several "pro gamers" play under aliases when practicing.
Nah, not everyone can be that good. You can practise for so long untill you cannot improve anymore and you are as good as you are, although sometimes you can be alittle worse then your peak with the game and become worse then all the years you spent practising.

There are a couple different aspects to this which need to be addressed. First, FPS usually have a lot of skills that translate.. basic aiming for instance. So when changing games(or returning to a game) you just need to adjust your old aiming schema a bit and pick up a few other technical aspects and you're back in action.

The second thing to consider is that most players have a particular playstyle they fall into, and in some games their strategy is a successful one, while in others it is not. In UT2k4 defensive players are rewarded enormously, but this is not such an effective way to play in, say, Quake. It is often very very difficult to change the core of your style once you develope it.

The most significant difference is that Pro players train, and everyone else just plays the game. Screwing around in servers for 6 hours a day might help you get past the learning curve, but after that its useless as far as "practice" goes, not to mention you just end up playing fatigued.

A few games a week spent seriously for improving an aspect of your game is all anyone needs to improve(I should know, I'm absolutely terrible gamer as far as natural talent). Moreover once you've become good, you dont lose your skill except that you become a bit "rusty".

People have different limits, sure, but most never even come close to reaching them. Either because they dont care to, or they dont know how to.

And for your question... What kind of gamer are you? It's too hard to place.. you have to realize that the VAST majority of players are actually pretty awful, just having fun in some 400v400 player server or some modded/unrecognized gametype. Getting angry at dying/losing has nothing to do with it, lots of skilled players are hotheads, but it does make them try harder. It sounds to me like you are nowhere near as good as you could be, if you have the mentality to get there.

The game i play now is too small to train hard, 15 players if that. It's the one i linked to youtube. But this thread was ment for any game btw. Playing tired and weak, can't move my arms or hands good without aching is too hard to get in the groove with and go out of focus.

What kinda games? similar aiming style games? so just UT games then? God i suck at UT2k4, although i have played like 30 hours of it in my life, but 3 years of a similar type game with faster movement speeds.

How about too frusterated to? I can cause physical harm when i really get frusterated. Surprised i don't have blackeyes yet. Cracked my neck once... :/

Average gamer i am, wishing i was good. The harder i try the faster i die when i'm beyond pissed, or even alittle....a tiny bit of consentration and i die pretty quick too. I can't find the right mindset to be good....i can't be thinking at all but it doesn't always work.

Any game really, you just have to identify the specifics within each to practice. Some people have a really hard time playing strategies, they tend to lose focus and dont follow their plan at all. Everybody practices aiming. For some you need to practice movement, or weapon mechanics.

Its hard to define exactly what skills translate; aiming, awareness, predicting your enemies actions. Often times when you change games from something like UT to a tactical shooter, you have to adapt your aiming schema(method) or create another one. Even if you reinvent your aiming (like reworking your baseball or golf swing) you bring some of your ability with you.

Ok, aiming is a pretty bad example, I usually tell people who get frustrated with their aim NOT to think about it too much. You get more familiar with how you aim when you get better, then you can get really technical with it.

If you really want to improve you almost have to focus on a single game first anyway. Playing other games on the side is fine, but trying to master two simultaneously is a good way to fail, it's just too much for the brain to handle, or something...

Just wondering but i seem to have lost my skills or something. I don't play much games lately unless it's company of heroes but when i do play fps (and this happened before my long ass break) my hands kinda feel weird and my hand bobbles just before i'm about to shoot and when i'm in a firefight my hand feels really slow and kinda sluggish, been going on for months and months and months now. What could this be? sometimes it's just impossible to even try to aim at all. Nothing is wrong with my hands except this problem, sometimes it feels like a squeeze too. Also it's been really consistant since i played the easy aiming game called quake wars, just han't been the same since even more so.

Just wondering what's wrong, that's all.
