Default About Keyboard Vs Controller

well I have a feeling that Huxley will be like FF11 with the ability for PC users and consol users to play together. The Xbox 360 has USB slots so a keyboard will be easy to use/install on the xbox but i believe that the keybard will only be used for fast chat like typing. they might realease a controler for the PC so when u buy Huxley for PC you will get a PC version of the 360 controler but you also could use the keyboard just like in FF11 with the PS2 we realy dont know untill they tell use i guess so just wait and find out. man this game will be sweet

Yes keyboard can only be used for fast chat and cannot be progammed for controls. I doubt any keyboard/mouse users would want to pick up a xbox360 conroller and play on that.

yea im with conqueror on this if you have a pc i wouldnt want 2 get a xbox360 controller and play a pc game with it. i think the 360 should be able to handle it fearly well, and as for the 360 controler it will be intresting to see how it works with all the options that will probebly be included in the game.

different versions of the games?
the data itself will be different. the PC version and X360 version will be the same game made for 2 different platforms, hence making them different, but operably the same.

with the x360 character, you initiate a motion to wave your hand to another player. the x360 reference it's own file and executes the command at it's own functioning speed.
when the command was made to 'wave', the signal is sent as a signatured command to a PC players computer. it recognizes the signature and performs it's own version of that command, referencing it's PC files.

it's like an auto-translator. the two speak in different languages. example:
(yes = 180) on the english computer
(si = 180) on the spanish computer
when the communication travels, it travels as those numbers, rather than words themselves. it's what makes time travel possible. ... I MEAN, um. it's what makes the quick and compatable connection possible . and how 56k players were able to play with T1 players on FFXI.

the x360's version will have graphics settings that best suits it. and it will be unchangable graphics, as it is a console.

the PC version, whether it starts off looking better or worse, it will continue to look and function better as time goes by as graphics cards are in competition. hence- more frequent upgrades available, competitive prices, and package deals.

PC's can tweak thier systems and add software like ventrillo to chat online in any game they want. heck, chat while browsing the web.
x360 headsets are part of the system and made a 'requirement' for the games. in other words- the developer/publisher of the game has to measure how well the game performs while using a headset, speaking back and forth, to then find the threshold of functionality. they then make that the max amount of players it will allow.

so whats the max players at one time on halo2? 32? so that's 16 on 16? is it even that high? sorry. i only play against my friends on occassion.
now next gen up- 360, i hope they can get some good max numbers in. so they can finally see what PC gamers have been experiencing for 10 years. massive battles.

i say they should save the speaking for intown.
that way we can have all you 360 players in the fray with us.
voice commands are always an option. i'm sure they're considering that right now.

Xbox360 will handle FINe but the question is are the graphics on 360 better then PC? and i know u guys will say depends on the video card and then my question back is What video card would that be?

Concerning graphics I'm dubious as to wether the XBox will be able to run the UT engine at full pelt. But PC if you happen to have the gear to allow it.

imo, PC will be either on par with 360, or ------------ below. =P

but, it'll depend on what videocards come out before it's release. and maybe 4 months after it's release there might be a better card that comes out.

i personally like to turn down the graphics after a certain point in the game. all i need to know is i am me, my teammates are my teammates, and my enemy is my enemy. i dont' need to know that some rubble around a tank is dusty or that the street light is shiny.

I think the xbox360 will be able to run as the computers you guys have. I know it will be able to run the unreal engine 3 to its fullest because other games like Gears of War are using the unreal 3 engine. And I think the pc graphics will be slightly better when it is set on its highest setting. I read a article on comparing the xbox360 graphics to pc graphics when playing oblivion and they looked almost the same.

Oh and I almost forgot, for voice chat will only work with a group. Say you join a group of teammates and there is 30 people in the group, well then you can talk to all of those other 30 people but still have to type to other people outside of your group. But it would be cool if you could all be talking to eachother without the groups.

I think the Huxley ppl know what there doing and im pretty sure itll work on 360 but as always PC is better

I can tell you right now that the version of Huxley released to the consoles will not be running the engine to it's full potential. The game will be tweaked to run well on the console, but beyond that it won't be optimal. Like somebody earlier posted, PC's have the ability to upgrade hardware, drivers, settings and recieve game patches to improve how the engine performs. Unless they start doing game patches for Huxley on the console the x360 will be lacking in all of these things and be reduced to the performance that the developers have time to tweak out of the hardware.

That's great coolaid, but that has nothing to do with how well the console will actually run the game. You can spout stats and hardware specs all day, but that won't change the fact that you're using a new and powerful engine as well as customized net code for a massive online game. How that will run on a 360 remains to be seen. Dreamcast had some great hardware, see what happened with that?
