Any of you play this xbox 360 online mech fest?
Ive got it and if you like tactical play in a similar vein to MechWarrior .. and nothing like Mech Assault ( yay ) , thats all online and with persistent elements (very clever online war they've made even though it still only uses 2 - 12 player games to decide it), then you should check it out. Online reviews are all over the place ranging fro awful to genius so its a love it or hate it game, although a lot of the low reviews ive read seem to focus on the singleplayer, wich it even says on the pack is designed purely as training for the multiplayer. Ive also seen one review say that they had major framerate issues, wich is also odd because I dont get any, even in a heavy 6 v 6 battle, and ive seen a fair few online comments saying the same thing. Anyways... well worth taking a look at this game, im really enjoying the online stuff.

Yea it is although I heard somewhere it wasnt in the US? Might be now though.
Be careful with the demo, i liked it, but it was fairly average because its just 2 basic missions with no mech customisation .. and the single player missions are purely for training, the online play is key and the demo dosnt show that. The mechs, special affects, controls and animation are on show in the demo and they do look/work very very well.

This game is great Shadow. They have some lobby issues that can be real annoying. This wensday they said they are fixing it on Sega's chrome hounds website and to make up for it also this wensday will be a free update with new guns and other cool features.

I have it, and its great! I also agree that the single player missions are souly training for multiplayer, because its kinda easy, even on Heavy Gunner and Commander. I already beat all the single player missions, and Ive got some good mechs

I have to agree..the singleplayer is just to get some decent starting parts for the outstanding online play! Phenominal! I have been playing for almost a week now, and I have had a blast...its only just now starting to get a little cheap, with people using pilers on bases...but I have that problem well in hand. I have killed many a scout before they realized what was happening, lol.
Step one=Place 40 some odd mines around your base.. Step two=Fire your machine guns at the scout so that he keeps moving...and rolling into your mines. Step three= Rinse... Step four= Repeat. ~Manetheren P.S. Mission Victory |

Haha thats funny I should try that. I just got the game yesterday and have finished the singleplayer campaign today. It was fun, but know I'm venturing onto online play and making my own mech, so far I dont really know whats good and what to use. So far I just have a scout with snipers on it that goes 240mph. Its pretty fun because I can lure enemies into my allies and then we pwn the noob. If you want to play with me send an invite to me, my GT is CONQUEROR 45. |

Nice, your sniper moving 240ish means one or 2 things...your only using perhaps 2 sniper rifles, and you are on a hover chassis or wheels. They are good for small snipe guns, using only 3 or possibly 4. No Sniper cannons though, that will throw you sideways, and your shots will be way off. Go treads for snipers, as well as most soldier type RTs. They carry good weight, and still run 150ish. Unfortunately, slower and more firepower usually wins out over faster and less firepower. But with treads, you get best of both worlds, you can go faster than most people's loaded down mechs, and your firepower is at least compairable. Also, groups of four guns are better than groups of 2 anything (except rockets at close range....ouch). Even well placed full auto machine guns on a cockpit can take it out in 15 seconds, so imagine what 4 cannons can do. Cannons, for Tarakia, can be 1800+ armor penetration PER Cannon! That makes it quite romantic for someone coming around a corner in a city and getting nailed by them. I love using 4 Faus cannons and 4 machine guns on treaded chassis. You can circle most peoplen and BOOM every 3 secs with the cannons, and if you can group them right, they all go to the same spot, making for 2 and 1/2 direct hit kills on your avg 4k durability cockpit. But heat seeking rockets are being used alot now, so make sure you save 200 lbs for anti heat seeker gear. (just add it on mech, and hit left trigger to shoot out small flare like things that pull the heat seekers away from you). Anyway, everyones playing style is different, so use what works for you! I've seen people with unconventional mechs murder folk with rarely used weps, so feel free to try anything on free battles. You could very well change how people fight in the game by trying something that feels right to you. Good luck, and take care, if you have any ?'s, feel free to message me at Brokentyr on the 360, I dont mind helping, in fact I kind of like it, unless your Marskovian, lol. Good luck!
