I havent played it directly, but there has been a mass exodus of players from SWG to EVE-online lately for some reason. Something about new features and/or an expansion which has ruined the game for them.

yeah a lot of people left swg in december because they thought it would be a good idea to have another combat upgrade :cry:

i've hear alot of people really upset with recent changes. SOE was stupid for making them.

yeah it was pretty funny though about a week or two before they have a thing TestCenter where u can test it out before it hits live and they had to rest the servers ever hour because everyoen wanted to try it..then u get on and ppl are dancing around doing nothing because they hate it

The funny thing is, I recently read one of the Dev's blogs who was working on this game. Apparently a crap load of people complained about the changes and even the Dev's and testers petitioned against the changes.

But true to form the big wigs ignored all input and declared the changes go forward anyway. Apparently to make the game easier for people (obviously idiots like themselves) to play and get into. This of course meant if you were a long time player, or a player who enjoyed any complexity in a game whatsoever, you were screwed. Many few year old characters were just rendered void basically.

I'd be pretty damn fucked off myself.

wow. I mean, if i were to make a game and want people to play, the last thing i'd do is ignore the player base, let alone the _devs_. That's pretty bad on soe's part. I'd have been pissed off too : /

yeah its not nearly as fun now because then u could drop skills and then just go kill stuff with people and gain xp to get to a different prof and u could mix and match now there is only 9 profs and unless u played before NGE once u pick ur prof ur stuck and even the people that played before NGE only got 11 chances to change their profesion so once u use those up ur stuck

I quit that game about a year ago, got pretty high (Bounty hunter) and it was dam hard to get that before the new patch, i thought about going back after they added JTLP. I read a review on the new updates and they say its now more fps orientated in the sense that if you pull the trigger it shoots. Unlike before witch was more like Everquest with wookies.

i started playing swg just when cu1 came into play. i then played till that one day the nge went live. i gave the nge about 3 days before i cancelled my account. soe drove that game into the ground and now look at it, swg is now in a 5 mmo bundle for only $20 usd.

I had played SWG for 1 year+ I cancelled my acount 5 days ago. Back in the day it was a awsome game. The people there where awsome to play with and i have some memorys ill never forget. But since SOE really only cares about making a sell and not really caring about the huge fan base that is playing the game, it just fell apart.....

I really miss some of the people there.... :cry:

I for one am never going to buy anything SOE ever makes again after that.
