They will probably implement the talking area thing. Where they make it so a very small area can only hear you and you can hear those in your little area. Halo 2 tried something like that, but Huxley might implement it extremely. So that its a very small area that you can hear or talk.
Oh and yeah definitly the idea with the group. Your group will probably be able to do the talking and shit stuff. |

uh easy. if it's through the game, then a sound will play on the PC.
it's like using a telephone. you can talk from a Verison phone to a nokia phone. doesn't matter that they are different. PC's have microphones too. and should there be ingame talk support, pcs can talk to 360's. Planetside had voice chat in your group without any other software. same thing in Autoassault. I'll bet anything Huxley will have in game voice support that will be entirely self contained. |

i agree with wat was said about people being near you being able to hear you if thats what you ment by talking areas ? . wud be good if snipers cud talk to everyone in the team so that you know if the enemy is sneaking up on you . You reckon there will be radar in the battlezones ? i hate radar ... makes the game alot less skillfull. but thats just my taste. I supose alot of people love radar. whats your views ? You biggest team that you'd have to connect to would be 120 players at once in a battleground. Within that, it will probably be compartmentalized into squad, then platoon then outfit, the access will very probably be set by the platoon commander etc with options to be able to let your squad commanders communicate with others.
It would be a simple thing to have an open "listen" channel where all the players can hear the voices of the commanders, but not be able to transmit into that channel, what they would transmit into would be the squad or platoon channel, and the squad leaders would have to relay it up the chain if they actually wanted the top leaders to hear it. And I'm sure that the access and who can talk to the top can easily be changed around. That's all hypothetical of course, but that's what I would do for a massive voice comm.

yeah, I don't think either the pc or 360 are gonna be different other than how you play them. I mean really what would be the point of creating the same game but making them different also where can I see that they said that the pc and 360 players can't play together.?

They've said it in quite a few places now. Most of the articles that came out after E3 usually have a short point about this.
The point of making the same game very different on 2 platforms isn't unheard of, and will be happening here. Granted the graphics will be the same or better, the screens and the styles will be all the same, but how the gameplay works will be different. You don't keep a game the same for two totally different interfaces, you make 2 games with the same premise (Usually) and 2 gameplay styles that make the game fun and, this is usually what business shoot for, sell. If you have a fun playing game on a PC and port it to a console and they can't do shit, they won't sell and you just lost a major target market.

well I mean yeah the key board is different to play with then a controller but there is a keyboard and mouse for the 360's so I mean they might not and to bad that they aren't letting the pc and 360 players play together.

Yea, i would want only squad talk, but it would be sweet if the highest ranked person in the match for each side could communicate to everyone... I hope we don;t have to buy a new mic/ keyboard....GRAAR
