hmm.. Huxley could go realistic by creating a talking radius where anyone within five feet of you can here what you're saying on the mic. But then again it just wouldn't work when 20+ people are trying to listen to a game plan haha.

How is a talking radius realistic?
you should jsut be able to talk with you squad unless your the leader. the leader of squads should be able to talk to the people who are in charge of even more people so you can get a coordinated assault/defence going on without having so much chatter its annoying. Then you should also be able to get a skill to intercept enemy's chatter to listen in on their plans and do your best to counter their strategy. Just one idea for how mics could work |

The way I'm seeing it is similar. Just by talking you talk with the people in your squad, which is what, 20 or so? Something like that . Then by pushing a button (like in Halo 3) you can talk with anyone on your side of the battle within X distance. The button thing in Halo 3, while I thought it would be bad at first, was actually pretty easy to get used to after only a few games.

I believe there was an update on voice chat somewhere (check around in General) Its going to work like some people have hoped, squads can only talk to squads, squad leaders can talk to their squad or the next rank up etc. This in my opinion is a great system. Being the leader type of person I'd almost treat it like an RTS if everything goes as its supposed to >.<.

here's what i think huxley should have a talk radius with mike and a team speak you can give orders and also i read earlier you should be able mute people being only a teenager i got called a noob the only way i know to shut them up to shove a high powered sniper bullet through they're skulls.

What I think they might do is have a sort of chat invite thing where you target a player and request a chat invite. You could have alot of people on a chat "channel" just like Shadowrun team chat.

But for the 360 you won't have keyboards or typed messages so how will they avoid the annoying people who abuse the mic and scream into it to annoy everyone in a certain area.

I think it'd be nice if you could invite someone to chat if your interested in trading with them, and if your trying to hawk your goods, you could put your cursor over the item and some sort of macro pops up for you to put into general chat, 360 of course.

Yeah I agree, and if like you are in a huge group lets say from 50 to a 100 people then you can maybe talk into different chat areas/windows or something of the sort to each different squad or platoon.

the pc has a disadvantage to the typing vs mic cause some people need to stop to type before they begin to move again. where as 360 only needs to speak it. i also know that the pc users can obtain a mic so it really depends for pc users on how fast your wpm is, or your wps.

i think that pc has a huge advantage over the 360 users. they have the best of both worlds. i mean if they have a 1000$ computer im sure they woulddnt mind springing the extra 50-70 for a mic.
as far as communication, im sure that huxley and webzen have figured things out. or have a map planned. |
