Controller users: Try signing your signature with controller. You can't even get close.

controller is to keyboard, as move-the-target shooting game is to a game like time crisis. you're scrolling a target on the screen, but the keyboard/mouse can take the shot with a twitch.

it is NOT the matter of how good you are. you could say "controller vs dance pad"etc etc. all you want. a bad gamer is a bad gamer. if a bad driver gets behind a formula one car, that is not an accurate judgement of whether it's suitable/capable for professional races opposed to a good driver behind a sedan.

one gaint example is the way people play each.

console FPS players see a target and have tunnel visioned style of taking them down.

PC FPS players are used to being able to keep track of multiple enemies from different directions, and in most cases only see enough of a quick glimpse of them until they killed them.

in most cases, console FPS players only pay attention to how many kills they got instead of thier kill:death ratio.

in medal of honor:allied assault, i would have a 100:1 ratio in 30 min.

dangit, this poor horse is bruised all over and is starting to rot already. how many times to i have to beat it to prove it's dead?

But on the plus side, game pads are better for veichles, so having a few xbox gamers in the clan to be drivers and pilots is probably a bonus.
I just bought shadow run and heard that xbox360 players are dominating pc gamers even thought they should have much higher sensitivity as default which seems a bit werid to me because i thought the pc gamers would of owned everyone :S so the 360 platform will probably be better

I wanted to bring this topic up for a moment.. yet again, what with the release of Shadowrun we now have a legitimate basis in which you can pit an Xbox 360 player with a PC player. (And yes, I know we have already had a few games in which could be considered legitimate bases.. but its 7 a.m., I haven't slept yet, and I am just not in the condition to be thinking about other things.. though I probably should.)

Thus far, I am unsure which I would name better. Either or. As I am a PC gamer as well as a console gamer, of all genres. And I have so far played against a handfull of PC gamers in Shadowrun as an Xbox 360 player, but to no avail I nor my fellow PC combatants have yet to determine if there is an advantage on either side. We have played many matches, and truthfully the results could be as random as a coinflip. (That is unless you tamper with it, i.e. cheat/mod, in which case your arguement in this subject is void... you scoundral you.) Of course skill does play in it as well so perhaps it isnt quite so random. Still.. I have yet to lean to either side of this relentless debate and leave that up to you all.

And please, don't just say one is better then the other and that is that. List some of your own experiences when it comes to this particular game. And also, spare me any attacks.. Im not here to fight.. its so early, and me so tired. Anywho..

Here's the short and sweet of my opinion- Each has their advantages and disadvantages over the others, but in the end you would probably do better with the mouse/keyboard over a controller in an FPS (As long as it wasn't lagging on the PC, which is more likely to happen than on a console). But which do I prefer? The controller. And that's why I'm on the 360 board here and not the PC one.

Oh, and to an earlier post - console gamers keep track of their ratios too, not just the amount of kills. It's only the little kids who think getting, for example, 50 kills but with 67 deaths makes them awesome. And no, you wouldn't have that "100:1" ratio. Ever. There's a difference between sarcastic exaggeration and just being one of those "My opinion is fact so stfu" people.

i wasn't joking, being sarcastic, or exagerating. and it wasn't just one time.
and keyboard and mouse has no disadvantage under a controller. nor does controller have any advantage over a keyboard and mouse. the only thing anyone has ever come up with was-
"controller is more comfortable"
"what if you hit the wrong key?"
"i can't sit on my couch"
if you think any of those are legitament reason why controller is better, just say so, and i'll explain.

sorry to reply so late.

I think shadowrun did a good job of balence between the two. I have it on vista and 360 and its a toss up,, the mouse may be better for sniping but thats about it. I think it really comes down to how much time you put into playing each way. I have friends on bf2 pc who use a controller and are in the top 20 on the leaderboard. They are close to getting me to switch because they have gotten that freaking good with a controller. Now mind you they said it took some hrs of tweaking to get to controller set to their liking but I must say they are really freaking good at it. They still use the mouse when sniping. The wierd thing is there are actually quite a few players on bf that I have found out swear they are mouse guys but I have later found out they use a controller and don't want anyone to know about it. One guy told me he dosent want other people to use it because its that much better and that a secret he trys to keep. I don't think I believe that but then you have the facts behind shadowruns creation and testing, who knows. They had to add on a lot of help to the mouse and keyboard sys because when they first started testing the game, the pc players were getting wipped out.
