Exclamation Full X360 Version POV

Okay, I've read this forum for the past couple of days to get a grasp on what's going on in Huxley. Especially after I watched the E3 2006 video where they said it would be release in '06... Weird, so I had to see the reasoning.

Well, I now know when it's coming out but I've now been looking at what's going to happen.

The major discussion is the Prescription fee. Here's how I'm looking at it:

The Mic System- Mics are extremely easy to set in an area. What I mean is that Webzen will most likely design the mics just like Ubisoft did in Rainbow Six: Las Vegas where the opposing team could hear you from a certain distance. Not only that, but many MMOs have their own private chat system and Webzen will most likely design their own chat system since Microsoft's sucks. So that's my opinion on the mic system.

The Prescription Fee- I believe that Webzen will have the two versions of Huxley (X360 and PC) on separate servers. Why? There's too much complications of combining the two systems together and besides, is Final Fantasy Online conjoined with PC X360? No. So, I believe the Webzen shouldn't charge players for playing. Commercials and what not can help them with that or, hell, even the money they make from the PC version can help. Now, you all can't tell me people will complain about the PC version getting charged. I would recommend Webzen charge them like $10 which, if you think about it, is cheaper than on the XBox where monthly fees are $15. And PC users can't complain about paying internet costs either because XBox uses it too. So, I'm not saying Webzen will or won't charge I'm just saying I don't think they should.

That's my opinion, I'm ready to discuss with anyone that would like to.

Now, on the X360 and PC getting conjoined topic. It's still possible but I don't think it would happen... But uh... If it does. Constricting players to only a specific race is stupid I highly doubt that'll happen.

Ok I believe a partial rebuttal is in order.

You said Webzen will probably keep the 360 and PC servers separate. I disagree, the integration of the two systems has been one of the big promises Webzen has made and I do not see them backing down on it considering the game development has gone back since '05. As for playing fees it is a a big difference when PC players pay $10 and 360 pays $15. For $15 the 360 players get multiple games online not just one. PC players have to pay multiple subscriptions if they play multiple online games. Webzen should just integrate ads slightly into their game to decrease costs and to entice people to buy it with lower costs. I see ads everywhere, if games are going to be invaded by them to decrease costs, I'm all for it.

I have no idea about the voice chat system for the 360 but as for PC I doubt many people would use a Webzen based service and instead opt for Vent or TS servers.

As to your different race thing, its totally bogus so don't believe it. Someone just misread something somewhere and tried to convince people it was true.

Gotcha. Well, like I said before. That chat system isn't something that really needs to be thought about. It's pretty simple to set up. But, about your "multiple games online" thing. Do you realize PC users just have to pay for their internet connection to play many online games? Like Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for instance. X360 users have to pay an additional $15.

Yes they do, however the games you talk about the game's creators don't set up servers for use. In MMOs the servers are set up by the games creators. So if you wanted to play both WoW and Huxley, you could end up paying $30 a month compared to $15, that's half off. (If you didn't notice)

You are very right. My major thing is that I feel they have the ability to not even charge players. Webzen has their own free MMO called Mu. Also, you see other MMOs like Guild Wars. I look at it this way. Huxley can be free to play by making in-game billboards. The game is designed like a modern city so billboards can be arranged. Also, the company is running 5,000 player cluster servers. That's fairly big but they aren't as big as say... WoW? I dunno though. It's an interesting topic, but you definately do have a point.

What point are you trying to make?

Can you clean that up a bit?

Whoops a misunderstanding thought it said change players.

Yes they do have that ability but greedy bas***rds upstairs might decide "Hey we want more money without having to pay people to code for in-game billboards.

I think he's trying to say that there's no such thing as greedy executives in the gaming community. But you already stated that. The game has many cities, like you said. Thus it must have a bunch of billboards like any other cities. So they put in a lot of ads to decrease the cost of the game. The problem with that is that they'll never completely get rid of a monthly cost if there are people that will buy it and a possibility that they'll make more money in the long run if they put in monthly costs.

I don't think there is a question that they'll put up ads (I'm pretty sure they will), the question is however, will they pass the entire savings of those ads onto us? I sure hope so, I'm not sure I'd be able to pay a $10 a month game, especially with out a job (hopefully get one in summer).

Let me help you out zeek. What I do is I save up enough money for a year subscription. Then I buy the year subscription. Then I save up during the year subscription, then next year, I buy another, etc...

That's what I'd do if I was low on money.

Well here's the thing, when you do buy year subscriptions, at least with the MMOs I've played (WoW, SWG) you needed a credit card to do monthly. Now since I can't get a credit card and my parents won't loan me one... well I wouldn't be able to get a year subscription.

Actually here is the REAL story of WoW:
Blizzard Co-manager - Hey! It'll only cost us 5 bucks to run a realm in WoW!
Blizzard Manager - Screw that, we need to steal their money to pay for our stupid mistakes!
Blizzard Co-manager - Well, what should we raise it to?
Blizzard Manager - Hmm, well since it was going to be 5 dollars....how bout we bump it up so it still ends in a 5....how about 15 a month!
Blizzard Co-manager - But that's a rip!
Blizzard Manager - So? It's their money for the taking, they're the ones with nothing better to do.

Government Conspiracy:
Co-Government Conspirator - Hey! It'll only cost us nothing to start a government conspiracy!
Government Conspirator - Screw that, we need to steal their money to pay for our stupid mistakes!
Co-Government Conspirator - Well, what should we raise it to?
Government Conspirator - Hmm, well since it was going to be free....how bout we bump up the taxes so it still ends in a 0.......how about %10!
Co-Government Conspirator - But that's a rip!
Government Conspirator - So? It's their money for the taking, and we have nothing better to do .

It really depends on the company's love for the gamers. Like, Epic is for its gamers which is why they come out with free updates unlike many other game companies who charge for extra features. It's what the company feels. Maybe I should start a petition and clerify to Webzen that they'll make it free.

I just meant that free is nice, Webzen can't find it that hard. We'll just have to see. They haven't mentioned a fee yet.
