Default Duel Wielding

I wanna know how the dual weilding of guns will be since they keep showing that vid with the black guy with like smg and shotty, and hes always shotting in 2 differnet directions, idk how they would do that in a fps but maybe they could pull it off.

any thought on it?

dual weild in the same direction on the same point yes. Its basically a model view, shooting different targets in different directions very tricky.

it was a movie, you can shoot a 3rd gun while backflipping off a 3 story jump landing into a car and blowing off the doors if you want. Games will never live up to the movies action.

yeah makes sense, since in UT your guy does flips and stuff when they are jumping but you dont actaully see it

There are games that can pull it off but there normally played third person with auto-aim, and unless they introduce a new and amazing peice of hardware for controlling FPSs then i doubt you'll see multiple target aiming real-time in the near future.

But as for character acrobatics, you will see these wall running, back flips and wall kicks are quite easy to put in. All through model animations and key commands. Even Opera a mod from the original half life engine utilised it, and we can probably expect to see them in huxley too, for some characters anyway. Dont expect to be doing back flips while wearing full body armour.

If you want that gravity defying crap, wall flips, superjumps dives and all that crap. Check out The Specialists mod for HL1. www.specialistsmod.net. Much better than opera.

I was just using it as an example, that with on the original half life engine they could create those effects.

There will probably be dual weilding in the game but like in Halo 2 where you can only attack one target at a time. You can't really compare gameplay to a trailer because in movies they do tones of stuff that you can't actually do in the game.

I think it would depend on whoich type of character you are. If there is dual wielding, then Alternatives will definately be able to use it... but Sapiens (in my mind) is still up in the air.

There might be a "weight" system, where you can only carry a certain amount of equipment, and the amount would also slow you down. That is something I would like to see.

Correct, Humans arent physically / mentally quick enough to perform that many actions in such a short amount of time even if it was possible.

Though graphics of games will become that of movies in due time, Virtual reality is on its way.

Sorry for refreshing old as hell topic but i'm quite interested in it. Especially, if im gonna play a light armored kamikaze ;]

First thought i had about it was a gameplay combined like in jedi outcast. As i remember, if you were in fpp, you had a better aim, while playing in tpp your flexibility improved much making any acrobatics available. I have spent some time searching for it but maybe by asking i'll get the answer faster ;]

I hope to god... Huxely doesnt implement an auto-aim system. This would take out all the skill needed in a FPS game.

Heres an idea for multiple target shooting... aim at the first enemy, shoot it, quickly aim at the next one and repeat the first step. KGO

I also hope the weapons wont be like normal MMO games... ie. This gun has 21-34dmg with a Fiery Enchant...

If there is to be dual weilding, it's not going to be for all weapons, only weak weapons to make them strong together. lol Cause think of it, sniper sits with 2 sniper rifles and snipes, thats redicules. All though maybe that is SYN powers? xD

if you were to dual wield 2 snipers you`d just miss badly every time so that would not work well unless you had mental powers and could hold the guns still with your mind or something

Maybe they'll put in some kind of special ability where you can bust out two guns and kind of just spray everywhere.

Maybe if you're an enforcer you take out your rocket launcher and your grenade launcher and just start shooting in every direction.

Or if you're an avenger sprinting through a crowd of enemies you can spray SMG fire everywhere and just hope for the best.

It would be pretty fun to do, and fun to watch and not too overpowered so why not?

I haven't seen anything like that in any of the beta videos but who knows?

Some crazy acrobatics might not be a bad idea either. Maybe if you have light enough armor you can jump off walls or something. Maybe everyone can do a little roll. Rolls are always fun to do :D
