no gears of war has got pistol CC aswell, and it's just dumb, compare the Boomshot with the pistol, two beats from the pistol and you're down, THREE beats from the boomshot and you go down O_o

how does that add up?
BIG GUN vs tiny pistol lmao

I think having bayonets is a good idea. Having a knife is lame

think about this if youre in close combat and just ran outta ammo, with a bayonett you could immediatley jab it in the persons brains but with a knife you would have to scroll through your weapons find the knife then stab, a bayonett would be quicker

true, however... there has been mention of melee skills, rather than melee weapons.

Honestly this sounds retarded to me, bayonets were hardly even used, majority of them being civil war last stands and occasionnal WW1. Its unrealistic, it's not really that affective and a quick but by pressing your right arm forward is all you need to do to whack somebody, rather quick, it's a lot faster then leaning in and jabbing somebody. I would how ever like knifes if they could add them, would be fun to sneak up somebody on my phantom and be all rogue-like lol.

haha i reckon we all should have laser thingos so you can get headshots easy, no point about bayonets, but yeh =]. for a phantom, whats the point of a knife/bayonet if most phantoms are snipers?

Well if you are a sniper it doesn't mean you can't fight or do anything else but snipering. Snipers work as scouts by spoting enemies and such, so if you go scout and a guy comes who doesn't see ya you simply pull your knife and thats the end of him :P

Gears of war was good. Not great. So far 2 post by you have compared Huxley with GoW. I hope you realize gameplay won't be like GoW...

Well it's either he liked it very much or haven't played many FPS games. But if you like a game very much or how some of the stuff is workig in it of caurse you would like to have that "stuff" in other FPS that you are going to play.
For example me, i played many FPS games, very many. But i mostly compare to BF series and of caurse to UT series cause it has its engine. But why i compare to BF series? Cause the game content is very organized and very well made which makes it fun to play, for me anyways. All though i haven't played GoW but i've seen it, so i doubt it would be anything like that.

No no, i didnt mean that i thought the game would be like gears of war. But in the sence for a close up attack for some weapons it would be pretty kool if there was a bayonet like thing. not exactly a chainsaw cuz well thats kinda a gears of war thing your right. But there are other creative ideas that can certainly add to the gameplay.

They already have a "Tackle" ability. I guess they would want people jumping about- wrestling too.

Yeah the ability is in game, haven't seen anybody tackle anybody, but i've seen what it does. If you use it you simply move forward very fast in 2 steps. Then you back to your normal speed, so it's pretty much like tackle, you tackle and then back to normal. But i wonder if it works on players :D
