the devs have said there will be 9 types of weapons, some of these we know.
1. shotguns 2. sniper rifles 3. rocket launchers 4. assult rifles 5. melee weapons 6. SMGs ? 7. explosive projectile flingers ? 8. ?????????? 9. ?????????? do you think that gernade launchers would fall under projectile flingers? maybe assult rifles and SMG in the same catagory? what else could their be? maybe some remote or deployable weapons like mines or turrets? maybe some recon drones like little aircraft or little RC car with a camera that you control and check out the other side of a wall? what do you guys think? I'd love to see some sort of mines and turrets in the game. It adds a little more strategy to the game, and gives you something a little different to do. Like if you want to set up a defensive position instead of joining right into the fight, you can set down some mines or turrets and then check on the battle, leaving your set up for a fall back position if you want.
Other than that, I hope they really get creative and throw in some stuff we haven't seen much of before. Always good to see some new crazy weapons that are fun to use :D |

Heh...
INCOMING!!!! *arty rounds hit all around, hurting many* Batteries return fire!! Ya portable arty would be great, I'd love to give the order to do a walk up arty strike (not sure exactly what it's called, it's when the arty goes ahead a bit each time).

Isn't there info somewhere about a certain skill being able to call in missle strikes or something? Not sure
Being able to call in artillary strikes would be awesome though. BF:2 has it and when that stuff starts going off around you it's pretty intense. Or just a way to call other players to do artillary strikes for you. Example: A phantom is scouting around looking for a good sniping spot and see's a concentration of enemies. He uses a hightech binocular camera or something to "spot" the area and then he calls for someone with a mortar or an artillary tank to fire on that position. Whoever has the ability can then look on a map and see where the phantom placed the camera. They can then fire off some rounds and see where they land via looking at the picture the camera can see, then they can correct their shots and such to bring down some heavy fire on an enemy. BF:1942 had that and I think BF: vietnam, it was good fun when people really worked together and set up amazing artillary strikes to catch the enemy offguard. "Hey guys look this fields totally open, lets rush!!!" 5 seconds later, boom boom boom boom! field of dead bodies. |

right forgot about miniguns. we know those will be in 1. shotguns 2. sniper rifles 3. rocket launchers 4. assult rifles 5. melee weapons 6. heavy MGs 7. SMGs ? 8. explosive projectile flingers ? 9.??? what is goin into those last 1 or 2 slots? flamethrowers? robots? mines? wait, are pistols in the game? has anyone seen a video of pistols? |

I doubt you can silence these uberly powerful weapons with a silencer smaller than a refridgerator, if you want your pistol to do any damage at least.
Flamethrower seems like it would use up tons of bandwith and just be really, really annoying visually anyway. |

Maybe a heavy machine gun that you can mount on a peice of a building or go onto a ground vechile jump onto it go prone and shoot away. also maybe a awesome meele weapon

Looks like you forgot energy weapons and explosives, such as grenades and mines. From what I've seen, there are definetley energy weapons, and what good fps doesn't have grenades?
