i asked in another post but i decided i would post here cause this is where this question belongs.

will weapons do the same amount of damage? will weapons be available exclusively by obtaining licenses? Will weapons be available to all levels?

As i said in the other post, most likely not. There's always a powerful gun. Besides, we're all guessing and predicting at this point.

Of course not. do u expect a tiny pistol to be as powerful as a sniper. just like every other game thers going to be differnt in damage, range, accuracy delay and recoil. sure this could be different as we dont exactly know but its just my thoughts

hopefully itll have hozones like source like u get hit in the head U GO DOWN but u can buy a helmet so if stops the bullet but does dammage

obviously there will be weapons that do more or less damage per shot but there are many ways to balance weapons.

i assume you mean will the same weapon do more or less damage based on who is using it. we will have to see, with so many skills, classes and items its only reasonable to assume that some setups will be able to do more damage than others. i sure hope that a gun wont do more damage just because the guy using it is a higher level. if that is the case then i wont play the game.

we dont know enough about the game to even confirm that 'liscenses' will play a part but it seems a safe bet that weapons with a steeper learning curve would require a more skilled player to use. they may just use money as the means to keep noobs from friendly firing everyone with the full auto grenade launcher.

there was one video where they said that you could sell and trade weapons and items in the market. it wouldnt make much sense for the game to let you buy a weapon that you cant use so that leads me to believe that anyone can use any item. at least thats what i hope.

i can only pray that they dont put super rare weapons in the game. even if the ultra rare version of a cheap common rifle is only slightly better it will still be the one everyone will want. the market will still put a rediculously high price on these items/armor/weapons/ect and those who cant afford all the slightly better items will not get to play at the highest levels which is where the fun is!!!

1.) of course not, all weapons do differing amounts of damage, some weapons like shotguns, damage falls off with range.

2.)A license will enable you to use a weapon in battle, doesnt garuntee you have the ability to buy it.
and we don't yet know if dead players will drop their weapons.

3.)the ability to use a weapon comes from having its license, license points are acquired by advancing levels, so no.
there will of course be a few basic weapons available to players w/o any licenses

They seem to be talking a lot about how people who are a higher level won't have a very big advantage over those of lower levels. It seems like they are trying really hard to make it so high levels don't dominate low levels in anyway and that skill will be the main focus for who wins and loses.

I'm assuming that yea different weapons will do different amounts of damage.

What I'm sure nobody knows for sure is if a certain weapon in the hand of a certain player will do more damage than that of another player. That is, even if everyone can use every gun. I don't think we even know if an enforcer can try to use a sniper rifle at all.

If so, I would hope that an enforcer wouldn't be as good at using the sniper rifle. at least have less accuracy or something. But whatever I have no idea :D

Well, supposedley, a FPS is mainly about skill, and as long as each wepon only takes one license, a level one could get a minigun, but not much else. Theoretically, a person with a pistol can kill a person with a minigun, it just matters about how good that person is about dodging miniguns and how good he is with a pistol.

woo amen to that. i was pretty sure that not all weapons would do the same damage and now im 100% sure. But yeah i would really love to know if a weapon does more damage in relationship to the person who is holding it. I cant see that happening because huxley would lose a lot of players. Who knows maybe weapons will do around the same amount of damage but be specific to different armor weaknesses. That seems more likeley, but who knows .

That could possible be the case. With weapon licenses an Enforcer will probably not be able to fire a sniper rifle as well as a Phantom. Not sure what levels would be used for. Access to more guns? Who can tell?

they have said that all the classes would be able to use all of the guns but that doesnt mean that they will be able to all use them as well. it would make sense for the sniper class to be better with the sniper rifles than a heavy. but they heavies are better with rocket launchers ect.

it would be fine if they made it part of the class structure, to help define the rolls. maybe in wouldnt even be damage, maybe only the heavies can carry more than 10 rockets. maybe the snipers would have a better rate of fire with the rifles. maybe the mediums would have better recoil control on the assult rifles.
