Rules to this thread are simple, awnser the question and let us know why.
What weapons (types), Armor types (effects), and vehicals would you like to see? TO get the ball rolling i'd like to see some sort of gattling cannon cuz gattling cannons were awesome to me ever since I saw the govenator shooting up squad cars with one in Terminator 2. Next i'd like to see some sort of flame thrower cuz roasting your enemy is a personal favorite of mine. Also i'd like to see some sort of mech like walker vehical. Lastly i'd like the vehicals to have weapon "hardpoints" that you could fit different weapons or gear (has an effect on the vehical IE jump jets) into. thats pretty much all i can think of for now. |

I would like to see an armoured personel carrier that flies and shoots long range missiles and has a couple of turrets under the chassis!
Also a really HUGE tank that can carry several hundred men. And lastly I would like to see one of those vehicles with a corkscrew on the end so it can tunnel under the earth and just pop up in the middle of a battlefield and let off loads of grenades as it surfaces! (would you believe i'm 35 years old) |

We'll I always liked the small tank in the (OLD)anime "Dominion Tank Police".
It was very agile and very compact. It had a short barrel for kannon shells, and a long barreled machinegun on the other end. It only fitted 2 people in it. I'd like that. Also the largest weapon in Unreal some rocketlauncher, it had a camera/controlled mode which alowed you to guide it all the way to the target. PlanetSide has something similair but you can hardly steer it. I'd like the Unreal rocket to be in the game. (with some limitations/handicaps ofcource). I'm all for mechs, multiple personal mechs are even better. But how about insanly big mechs? like, moving buildings? Slow as hell, space for groups of soldiers, not just as cargo, but also to man al the tiny turrets on the mammoth. One slowly recharging mega-laser. I can imagine a battlefield where both sides have one and ... CHAOS! (idea directly ripped from some warhammer scene). |

Mechs get tricky, mainly because every one else on the battlefield is simply just a fly to a mech. And if you played planetside at all, and saw the mechs come in that you'll understand, that was definately the wrong way to bring mechs into the game.

lol small fighters all the way i hope there are more small fighters then that bike looken one in the video but i'll sedle for even that if it actualy fly's and doesent just sit a little bit off the ground.

Large Battletech style Mechs (as in Mechwarriors) would not work at all, considering that on that kind of scale, they would need other mechs to take them down, killing the idea of infantry on the field.
The only mechs/walkers I can imagine are the sort of walkers one finds in Heavy Gear - they are much smaller (about the hieght of 3 men) and not very agile. They would make a very effective weapon, and yet not that invincible that infantry cannot take it down. Well with regards to what vehicles I'd like to see: APC's (already present) Tanks of various patterns (already present) Light Buggies Heavy Buggies Motorcycles Motorcycles+sidecar Tricycles Hoverbikes (already seen) Dropships (already seen) Fighters Light Fighters Bombers not sure what else...

Well Dropships, we seen them but we still don't know if they are player controlled or like the HART in PS.
As for Mechs, I wouldn't mind something like in the matrix big battle scene. The weapons were huge but didn't give the person himself that much protection. Also make it so they can malk. Like a bigger version of a Max in PS but with less protection do to the open nature of the mech. I want bombers as well but make them have to fly low to be effective.

The Mechs in the final Matrix Battle scene are not mechs at all, only APU's (Armored Personnel Units) - a mech (short for mechandroid) is something more advanced than a simple APU.

If you ever played AvP the APU in that was good fun, allowed increased movement, it had a charge jump, slightly more powerful weaponary.
It was basically a slightly more agile tank in respects to where it could go, and the weapons it could carry. If i remember correctly it had a railgun type round, a flame thrower, a rocket launcher and a minigun. It had medium armour but the pilot was visible to it was possible to take him out with a headshot and leave the machine undamaged, which allowed for hijackings.

I'm all for vehicles, but make some tough areas that vehicles would really have to struggle/(or cant) to get inside.
Just to prevent peeps from bein vehicle whores

Alot of good ideas. i like the origonal posters idea of hard point on vehicles so you can chage and modify a vehicles weapon load out.So when you see the transport APC coming at you. do just laugh thinging oh this littel guy has just 1 little machine gun to protect him self.And to your supprise he could be carring say maybe a EMP projectile or flamer or could have a heavy laser sor tof like the Rhino's from (warhammer 20K).
I like the idea of a huge moving transport (bigger than the galaxie dropships in planet side) maybe holding 20-40 people? I would like to see a sort of small fast moving scout platform.like a little bird (from preseant times) to scout or fast transport 2-4 people. Or like the misqueto in planet side a one man scout ship used for lite assualt or to get you to those hard to reach spaces(top of hill for sniper etc) Thank for this thread i would love to hear of some outlandish ideas for weapons. Like they release the idea of a beeping bomb type shell with a timer. or say a router(teleportation system) like in PS. but more of a portable version. or some thing like ( a mine/grenade ) that would have like spider legs and crawl/climb over a wall and blow up on other side, sort of like a smart spider mine,seeks out the enemy in short distance. but more efficant than just chucking a nade over a wall or arround a corner. |

! thing that this would be interesting... is a vehicle, or hover vehicle that can hold up to 5 people... 1 driver... 1 to mount the side seat and fire out of...
2 in slot on side of vehicle that can fire their weapons out of... it would be open areas so players can be shot, but at the same time those in these slots can use any weapon they have, grenade launcher, rockert launcher, lazer rifles, or whatever suits their fancy, only downfall is they can be killec by fire from enemies and the vehicle can keep going... the final position is filled by a mounted gun, interchangeble to a chain gun, rail gun, rocket launcher and so forth.
