This topic my or may not have been discussed before if so im sorry....I just wondered while all guns have to require ammo. I know some will but i saw some of the laser guns in the movies and wondered if every gun will require you to go across town to find an ammo merchant for a phaser.

Probably, cause all energy based systems need some type of battery. Or else you would have no charge and how can you kill with a gun with no ammo or energy? (Besides bashing people in the head with one.)

Not too sure about tradeskills, but I think uber ammo craftskills would be a nice addition.
But ammo itself in Huxley is a necessesity. Without it, it would just be a pointless zergfest.

planetside zergfest is very different than from perhaps "zerging" in Unreal turny. The pace is very different, and you really can't tell the level of "zerging" until it comes out. As far as ammo, most games have at least one weapon that either recharges or has some type of "infinite" ammo.

I think an interesting idea would be rather than buying ammo (which is the most likely scenario I would assume) is having ammo pickups in the environment/instances like in a Quake/Unreal setting that perhaps have respawn times of whatever it may be. Or better yet, both, so one is not completely dependant on blowing a fat wad for 4 different types of ammo but is able to have a bit of sustinence from the enviroment.
