Yeah it happens to EVERY game, people come up with unusual nicknames for weapons and equipment that just STICK. Post yours in here so it catches on and you can smile everytime someone uses your word!

ill go first....viper sniper rifle..... the SVIPER

....dont even ask how thats pronounced

(maybe we should go with VSR :roll: )

Desert Eagle = Deagle all over. Don't think it came from video games, it might have started in the military.

Well, when it comes to the AWP, the AW stands for Arctic Warfare, and the P means that it?s the Police variant, so AWP just becomes an easy to remember Acronym. Theres also the Super Magnum variant (AW SM), the Suppressed variant (AWS) and the Folding variant (AWF) but there not as well known as the AWP.

Edit: oh, and there?s also just the basic Magnum variant (AWM) which I think was the sniper rifle in counterstrike.

I always liked the Deagle as a nickname though, not really sure why, plus I always liked how the FN M249 Saw became known as the PARA, but I still have no idea where that came from.

It was AWM back in the days before they had to change weapon names for legal reasons i think.

Yeah, once CounterStrike went retail they had to change the gun names or pay the manufacturers fees.

people always got noob cannon mixed between AWP and auto shotty.. i say auto shotty is the noob cannon cuz everyone who started playing CS bought that damned thing every round! hahaha AWP does take some skill to use against other skilled players...

Dude! demented! i was the one with you piloting the gal trying to drop the dam vehicles on the pad. we had everything up there. the ams was genious, then we plopped a skygaurd up there for ultimate air defence! everyone was psyched out and didnt know what was happening when our troops started dropping from the sky.

hehehe the flak from the skyguard ontop of a base was sheer comedy gold. i remember parking it up there and a gal went over 3 mins later and i ate everyone
