Default Armor attributes???

Hi all, from what ive read around is as you increase level/rank more abilities and armors and such become available... like at the top level you got increased speed, hologram ect ect. But will these all be uniform for everyone, like the same length of speed burst, or duration of hologram.

Just guildwars got pritty stale for me as everyone had the same equipment in the end, with only little variations in looks...

I would like the loot to provide different armor attributes, like speed burst of 67% if you salvage a broken one and such... Ok it encourages farming... but also incourages people to be that little bit better then the rest . Maybe so the PvP to even it up if they have to introduce an all even mode... Anywyas this turned froma weee post into a mini essay.. Im out l8z all.

I'm not sure if there will be different ranks of each armor socket (such as having a better sprint than your enemy) but there will be hundreds of different sockets that we'll be able to choose from.

Even if all the sockets are the same (only one grade of sprint) that doesn't mean everyone will be using sprint.

We've only seen a small amount of the sockets that will be available to us and since we can only carry 5 (i think) at level 50, there will definitely be those who choose not to use sprint but to carry some other socket that suits their playstyle better.

at the bottom of that page you'll see a list of the sockets we know of at the moment. As you can see it's nowhere near a hundred so there are definitely more to come.

Kewl, so there will be a large variation this makes me happy ... Hopefully the cloak mode will be better then cyrsis's ones, I can still seeeee you... Thanks for the link as well btw.

From what I saw in the videos, the stealth is completely invisible..i.e. can't be seen. However, I also saw some sort of heat vision visa-vie Predator which showed a stealthy foe when in that mode. I also noticed that neither skill is always on..its more of a "burst-on" for a few seconds which makes alot of sense or else there would be alot of snipe campers, but still stealth will be a definate asset to certain game play situations.

Yeah it'll be fun to see which sockets counter other sockets.

cloak vs heat vision.

headshot defense vs powerful sniper shot

pretty much any power shot socket thing vs the armor regen socket


So many possibilities and much more to come

Two comments on this subject.

1. Not to stray from subject but as far as special powers goes , if anyone has ever played shodowrun thats a pretty good example of competative power system. im that game they have things such as enhanced vision (pretty much x-ray) but you can get smoke and they cannot see you so in that way they might have a lot of powers that cancel out other. But at least you would still be able to use it on everyone else.

2. they could ad in a system where you can custamize your powers (so you wont have better abilities just better at difrent things). Such as one persons speed boost could go in longer burst while anothers doesnt last as long but is faster for that duration. but thats just aposibility.

What are these green packs ? I have one that has a first aid cross on it, white in color, on a green looking square. I can drag it onto my character sheet (hitting k). Does it have inherent bonuses or do you have to activate it (if so, how)? I read all of the other socket/upgrading stuff but couldnt find an answer for this one.

I hadn't heard of those green packs since people started playing the beta. From the little mentions of it that i've seen, they're health packs that you click or something to heal yourself.

Haven't seen much about it and I'm not in beta so I might be wrong

Use it by pressing R. 1 is a health pack, 1 is an ammo refill, I don't know what the last one I encountered is.

and to answer a little question in there.

Apparently there are different levels of the same armor attribute. Such as "oh boy I'm lvl 10, now I get a better version of my sprint attribute!!!"

They haven't released any new info (that i know of) about adding more attributes and from what I've read, the attributes are class specific. Hopefully more will come out when the full game is released.

You mean the socket skills (such as Sprint). When you get a higher rank armor, you need a higher rank socket skill. Example: You can't use an E-rank Sprint skill in a D-rank armor.

is it any better than the previous version of sprint though.

Like does Sprint Rank-D last longer or go faster than Sprint Rank-E?
