Default Sockets

Does anyone know what kind of sockets they will have in Huxley. I have heard of 2, Invisibility and a 1 Shot Headshot socket. The invisibility one is self explanitory but the 1 Shot Headshot one could leave people confused so i'll explain it. From what I understand is headshots do considerable damage but don't kill unless used repetitively. This socket makes headshots a 1 shot kill. I don't know how armor affects this socket but this is only what i know.

Yeah I read about the invisibility socket, and their is a headshot socket that provides a shield of something to protect against headshots for abit. Their was also one that provided sprint, and I think another that said you could do a double jump thing.

Sockets? as in Gem into Weapon?

Eh, if so... i think thats retarded, should leave the killing to personal skill/aim.

skills will be attached to armor through sockets. my understanding is you can only bring 5 skills to the battlefield and you choose which skills you want from the ones you've earned before you start fighting.

theres no gems, this isn't diablo

and fyi theres been a dozen other threads with more or less the same topic so check around b4 you post a new thread.

OOooh, you can bring skills into the battlefield? Cool! It would be great if there were buffing skills ie. slight armour/dmg improvements.

Why would there be any buff's in a FPS? All weapons already do different damage but the same for each person. 1 unmodified rocket launcher hurts as much as another. I don't see any point in buffing. It's just some stupid WoW ripoff.

Don't think of them as buffs as in rpg's, but more like "power-ups" or something of that sort...still don't like it but it is more common to FPS...say Time Splitters.

I haven't seen any of the little sockets being to improve damage of a weapons (there might be but they haven't released much about it). The buffs aren't really like what you are thinking of. Not just flat damage increases or +6 agility to bracers or something that replaces skill with time played.

I think they are more along the lines of little abilities you can use that will possibly make fighting easier for you, if you use them correctly. Not just +5 damage to your machine gun, but like the ability to knock someone down, or like the above stated: double jump, protection from headshots(whether that just stays on forever or if it makes it take 2 headshots to kill you, or if you can just turn it on temporarily and then wait for a recharge I don't know).

Like what Grind said, all I've seen about abilities are the various armor enhancement type things like headshot immunity

webzen has implemented crafting skills... so im guessing there will be a +# (weapon type) or somthing similar. this also means that weapons could be semi-customizable.(I.E.; scopes, clips, ect.)

Eh? I thought since the armor came with sockets in it, as long as you had skills in the sockets you could take them all into battle however many you had socketed on you...what's with this 5 skill limit per battle thing?

from what i understand, its equptment sockets rather than armor/weapon sockets, and it would make sence that there is only 5 spots for armor(helm, chest, boots, gloves, pants)

Oh I see; I thought the armors/weapons held the sockets themselves. I guess that would make sense...

Heard in a video that "invisibility" will be one of the phantom's class abilities, so I'm worried that I won't be able to use that ability unless I'm a phantom. But then again, it may be that that's one of the phantom's bonuses, they'll not need the cloaking ability because they already have it, and can use an extra ability at no cost.

heres how id like to see it...weapons that can be upgraded with new equipment, be it scopes, clips, ammo type(one ammo type thatd be good is emp), recoil reduc, sound supressor, increase/reduced barrel length (effecting how accurate and how effective you are in close combat), armour with a crit protection upgrade, faster running speeds, more stealth, protection to the various ammo types, sensors, modified optics (nightvision, thermal), reduced impact (assuming they will have fall dmg), jet pack of some kind, personal teleporters and so on
