Lets look at the aircraft in planetside...
and totally take this as a model of what the aircraft SHOULD NOT BE LIKE in this game. Even in the post apocalyptic world, there needs to be some sort of flaw in technology, especially vehicles.
Or o'course, we could just not have aircraft! :P Though I really do want em. |

The Battlefield games do a really good job with aircraft. (although they do a great job with all vehicles) Aircraft are powerful, fast and agile. They also take a lot of skill to use effectively, and they are far from invincible. They're excellently balanced if you ask me.

i think flying under bridges and through tunnels is a must, but of course, if you even scrape a wing on something, your going down.

Not unless it's like a small hover pod thing. Sorta like maybe a surf board with a gun or a lift thing from MGS:Snake eater. You know the lift thingies with the head light on it and it's like around in the swamp area.

This is going to be a cool game, not some fag fantasy game of yours consisting of bio armor, candy canes, and disco dancing hoverboards.
The aircraft should be fragile, deadly, and take skill to pilot. Anything else is shit. |

Do i think a main gun of a ground tank or small arms, no way, none. do I think artcraft or tank should rain also no way. tanks with flack guns and maybe like 4 lock on rockets around but nice so mech inf or armor platoons could have a strong anti-air power plus the flack could rip up ground pounders. man portable rockets around but nice but should be very limit'd by ammo and take up space so that the gun with it would be hard pressed to do battle alone, that way artcraft and tanks are not under power'd.as it is tanks, planes and apcs are limit'd by spawning time/zones, and time to get back to the fight.

Actualy, the UE 3 engine can render places 100x the size of BF 2 maps. Ya jus got to have a decent system to play them. My dad created a map for UT2K4 (he makes maps for it) that was an Egyption village, you could go across sand to a temple and pyrimids or stay in the city. It's a huge map. Probably one of the biggest game maps I've ever seen for an FPS. That was on the UE 2.5. I'm sure UE 3 can do so much better.
And ya, vehicles shouldnt have unlimited ammo. Jus small limitations. (like ammo eventually depleeting, not going on forever)

There is no stated information on aircraft but it could a major factor/debate in Huxley. Also, most of these forms are based on little information.

"Though Huxley will have its share of PvP missions, it will also feature missions and quests that involve leading a squad of AI comrades. Huxley will even feature a variety of vehicles such as cars, choppers, tanks and more, all controlled by the players themselves. It?s been hinted that players may even have their own vehicles. "

Hmph. That last sentence, "It?s been hinted that players may even have their own vehicles," gets me thinking that this game could easily do what Auto Assault is doing ontop of everything else that it already has. Customizable and unique vehicles would be 100% Grade A badass.

As in a few screenshots and movies we do see dropships (Or aircraft that certainly don't look they can be used as agile fighters, though they might be bombers.) If these are able to be piloted by the players then there has to be smaller craft that can intercept and persue. (As a gal pilot in PS I don't fear AA I fear mossies and reavers shooting up my rear.)

Also if they do have aircraft they would need to have some type of AA (Anti-Aircraft) for the typical Grunt or Armor Driver. Probably some type of Flack or lock on (maybe FaF (Fire and Forget.) or some other type of guided missile or rocket.) Just hope the AA won't be simmular to the AA in PS. AA in PS is either too powerful, too slow, or too weak, except for the skygaurd which is a fun little buggy to drive.
I personally wonder if they are going have some type of bombers, light or heavy.
