Ill go for assault for now, but tbh I prefer being in the air, what ever that means being.
If that makes sense.

As much as i love planes i hope they limit them to light harrasment and transport or we may end up like the reavers in PS. If they have helicopters im hoping they can only carry 3-4 missles and you can buy different kinds of missles to load in the launchers and a light machine gun for strafing.

I like to GET IN THERE, some small device to move me through the massive levels to where the fightings going on: say a hover board; then discard or slap it on my back --> and start pawning heads left right and centre!
dont need to sit behind 10ft of metal to take out a bunch of guys mass transport for very long distance would be good too, wheels if its a desert, or air if the views good not saying i wouldnt be the pro at a role of support gun user on a tank or anything, but i mean how unfair would that be if the noobs couldnt even shoot me? |

That's the point they are noobs. They won't get better without the process of trial and error. They will have to learn what is the quickest way to take a tank out. Or how to get the tank cannons time between shots stuck in their head. Almost to the point that dodging is second nature and that running around shooting 10 inches of steel witha pistol won't do anything. So there is no fair or unfair in war. Take cover when a trigger happy tank comes by or say goodbye!

Covered in skulls like Chuck Norris's ice cream truck. Yeah! I figured that if logos and paints can be added to vehicles. I'de call my dropship "Death Taxi"
and my supply vehicle "Ice Cream cart". Thanks for the awsome idea Lexion and Landain.

Meh I'll probably be more likely to go Support over Assualt, but I'm the son of a US Army colonel so I happen to know a lot about military tactics (due to his nature of telling tales of when the US was afraid of a Soviet invasion).

Do we know yet if the transport type planes from the trailers will be pc controlled?? They look like they've got drop pods under the fuselage in one of the screenies, or possibly lugging around an apc in other views.
Either way, that's what I'm after. Nothing so satisfying as dropping a full squad behind the lines for some demolition work, or swooping into a hot LZ to pick 'em up again afterwards. You can keep your fighter jets, transport birds FTW 8)

Rocket packs, those be good and all. Too weak and short ranged for transport, but adds a Z axis movement, which will gives height/position advantage in 3d city fighting environments. Of course you would only use it in limited short bursts, out-of-combat; because a) it wont have much fuel, and b) you can only move in straight lines, (and turning is quite slow) removing all ability to dodge till you get back on your feet.
On a side note, i hope there will be UT-Original sized jumping in Huxley. (big fast jumps) An important element to all pro fps is dodging and shooting in unison. Thats why CS stinks of BS and luck, theres only the shooting element to the game--> you simply cant dodge :( ..having said that, dodging wont do much good if it's my sights after you! |
