Vehicle Spawning

Any one else bothered by the article saying that the combat vehicles will be already spawned on the map?

I know it says that you can purchase 'civilian' vehicles but I want a battle vehicle of my own. It feels like having one hope taken away. *really wanted a dropship =(*

And it makes sense for combat vehicles to spawn on the map in those large scale games so they're limited; otherwise eventually it may just end up being 100 tanks vs. 100 tanks. And that would suck. It would be nice to be able to own your own combat vehicles when doing missions though where it's just you and maybe a couple other guys; though that would depend on the location of the mission if you could even use them.

No matter the classification of character, all players will be able to jump in and control the various vehicles found across the competitive multiplayer environments. Unlike the civilian vehicles purchased in the cities, these vehicles simply spawn in the environment. While any character type can technically drive any vehicle, players will still need to acquire a license to make any use of them.

Still though I just want my dropship, I do hope they count group transport vehicles as civilian/battlefield Cause it would suck having to individually go to a battle field /then/ load up

Well I'm sure there will be some sort of vehicle, civilian wise, that can carry multiple players...though it may not be a drop ship. Either way, if that's what you want, make it your first license to get at level 10. Personally I was going to get a 2nd weapon license first (I hope there's a time limit after you get a new license in case you want to change it; I would not enjoy getting a new license then discovering I hate the weapon I got it for) and then my first vehicle one, which would probably be for the battlefield air vehicles.

Concept art, not everything's included, etc. Plus that doesn't differentiate between Civilian and Battlefield vehicles if I remember the page right, I can't view the main site from where I'm at now to check.

this might and it might not be all the vehicles, although, I do think that we can figure out which are for what...

1. the tank in the city
2. the motorcykle on the battlefield
3. the small fighter ship in the city

I know they shown dropships in concept art and in the movies. But I'm starting to have a feeling that they will be npc controlled or like the HART shuttle in Planetside. Not really seen cept landing and taking off but drops players on battle fields.

Does anyone one know if the world outside of the battlezones will be big enough to even make buying a vehicle just for travel worth it? Apparently the 2 faction capitals are going to be really huge but will it be to the point where you have to drive from one side to the other?

And is there a world outside the cities and outside the battlezones that you can also get good use out of your vehicle?

Well if the APCs will be purchaseable, the only person who will be able to buy them is the clan leader, and if he wants to purchase more then one he needs special amount of people in clan or some special clan lvl for that. But i doubt that APCs will be purchaseable.

Well i dont think it would be available for private use only outside the battle ground, but if it will. Since it has multiple places in it, it wont be used by one person only which leads to the idea of mine.

In those pictures of the magazine article it said that the capital cities will indeed be big enough to get good use out of personal vehicles that are just used to travel maybe from one side to the other, or from one battlefield to another.

As for in the battlefields, I think their general idea so far is that they'll have all the vehicles spawn on the battlefield but only those who have the license can actually pilot/drive them.

Well difference between wont and want are big =)
I mean first of all if people will be driving a tank in the city, the one who drives it will create chaos, plus it's not realistic. To be wanting to drive it is another thing, i want to drive it anywhere but as i said, there are "Rules of security". Plus the small vehicles are fastest to get around with.
Btw the times you saw tanks in cities (screenshots) it was either battlegrounds in urban style or PvE fields in urban style "Abandoned cities".

pfft i just want that bike...looks sweet

what about personal vehicles in battlefields? can i take my bike with me there, do you have to park it or is it like SWG where you hit a deed and it poofs in? ( and if this was said in any of the vids, sorry im not lazy, i have dial up so i cant watch...wont get high speed til huxley out :/ )
