Well to be exact this is what i do i start from medium and go up and its funny cause when i played medium on FPS's i broke their pattern and guess what i did for hard too it just took a lil longer not too long tho and u can doubt me all u want i could care less im just trying to say that if it was JUST PVE only and i agree with u that its good to have both but which one would u rather play if u had to choose and u cant say neither of them

My god, man! Use punctuation and proper sentence structure. Sheesh! It's painful to read your spam.

Hi, I'm the guy who played Guild Wars for the PvE. PvP doesn't interest me much. There will always be some twitch-kid who can beat me. I'll hold my own for the most part, played CS and BF2 well enough. But I did enjoy BF2, so I'm sure I'll get into the PvP battles with my teammates.

Dear oh dear CTU24, Not that i think your right, but so what if he doesnt want the challenge of pvp. You just said you dont want the challenge of laying out your posts so they are readable, so thats only fair right?

Anyway, Pve is not 'no' challenge compared to pvp if done well, its just a 'different' challenge. "I'm cool because i pvp and you are lame because you pve" is a load of sweaty old bollocks and that is how your last posts come across.

Also why ask which you would play pvp or pve on a Huxley forum when we already know 100% there will be both?

Actually, I loved City of Heroes for the PvE and played it for a very long time. Got my lvl 50 Firetanker and then a lvl 30 Kheldian, plus numerous other high level characters on many servers. (I hate calling them 'toons'.) When they implemented PvP, it killed it for me. They had to nerf everything to make it fair for the arena. Bah! I also enjoyed Guild Wars for the PvE, forming parties and doing missions. No problems. Never once set foot inside an arena.

I'm willing to make a safe bet and say that I've been gaming longer than you've been alive. (Been playing since the mid '70's.) I know what I like and I'm going to love Huxley. Just in a different way than you might choose.

That's a joke right? There are plenty of very good games that came out during late 80's/early 90's. And I hate to know how old you are, because if it's over 14 and you use that sort of grammer when typing...wow.

I actually think Guild Wars PvP is well-executed. I played WoW for a while...terrible experience. If I had to choose one for Huxley....PvE. I can do tons of PvP in Unreal Tournament and other shooters. Some solid 50+ hours of PvE shooting would be awesome, with tons of RPG elements.

Hrm....Mass Effect anyone?

its not the fact that you ask questions, its how you ask them.

Jet set Willy/Manic Miner, Missile Command, pacman, Space Invaders, Tetris blahblahblah

The list of games that were 'classics on the likes of the Atari 2600 and Spectrum zx is a long one. Computer gaming had been around a long time before the internet found its way into the publics homes you know.

These games may not have the technological depth of later games but if yuo sit down to play some of them without the bias, you would find yourself enjoying a decent number of them. Retro gaming is cool for a change of pace etc, it was all about the game not the graphics back then.

CTU24:

see, here's the common underlining issue in all of these topic threads:

PC gamers trying to explaining to some ignorant console players how things are gonna be in huxleys environment.
(btw, look up ignorant in the dictionary. i don't mean it as street slang- "stupid". i mean it as "one that does not know; lacking of knowledge".)

there are some things that purely console people don't understand. to them, FPS's started with goldeneye007 for N64. and you're revolution is halo. but while you are a tribe who is rubbing flint and tinder together, grunting in rejoice, the nation of WASD are in the industrial age.
huxley is your real revolution. you get to reside amung the modern. you say that is a box carrying people, we say it's a car. you're the one in the foreign land. it's consoles being brought to the PC world.

anywho-
about AI-

CTU24, you played every FPS on the hardest difficulty? lies.
-even perfect dark? all the challenges?
-all the cheats unlocked on goldeneye?(beating record times on each level). i clocked at less that one minute in facility.
-name the PC fps's.

AI see's us motion quarter circle + punch and raging demons through the fireball at perfect timing.
AI is looking through a scope that never leaves your head, even though you're behind 5 walls.
AI counters all of your grabs.
AI does not fear.
AI does not flinch.
AI has no mercy.

the only reason AI has ever been easy is because developers adjusted it that way. it's toned down so it will be fun and not impossible. btw, consoles are generally easier than anything on PC. the more ability you have, the higher difficulty the developers will push at you.

but i digress- i prefer PvP.
i like fear tactics. phsy-ops. freaking people out. stalking a player for 10 minutes as he looks specifically for me; chatting with him and taunting him. but what i really love, is being beaten by an exceptionally good player. i love running up that steep hill.

anyways. what did i even say this whole post? =P just rambling i guess.

Are u guys attacking me cause it seems like you are im not gonna do it back cause i dont want this fourm turning into a war. SOOOOOOOo I would like to correct my statement. If you thought i said EVERY FPS your wrong I play CSS UT04 Alot of MMO's so I know what im talking about when I say PvP. Ut04 is a perfect example of what i think so let me tell you a little story.

UT04 Story (Real events take place if you dont beleive me I dont care )

So I was playing UT04 recently actually and i started a Single Player Account to see if my theory about the AI actually worked. So I created a whole new profile putting the Difficulty on Godlike (hardest Lvl). So it begins with the 1vs1 match. I was listening to my pump up music and in 2 min the score was 3 him 0 me. At that point I realized that AI doesnt really get smarter it just gets more powerful and moves/dodges more. So knowing that smarts easily beats power I also realized that this guy always goes takes the fighting to get health so what I did is used all the health packs around me while were fighting and BOOM! rocket launcher up his BEHIND!!!! I was like that was fun ok lets try another tactic. This guy always uses a Link gun. So I know when we respawn hes going RIGHT for that gun. What I do is grab a chain gun meet him there and just when I see the gun I see him and open fire and lets just say that thers a LOT of lead in this guy. I can go on and on and on but i realize all of u have more important things so I will just sum it up the score was 10 him 15 me so thats my example if u want more go onto www.youdont knowwhaturtalkingabout.com

Don't forget baiting. That's one of the best parts of PvP.
