I've heard a few different things concerning whether or not Huxley will have an open world like World of Warcraft (where players of the same and opposite faction can see and interact with each other outside of player cities) or an instanced world such as Guild Wars (where one only sees other players in cities and battlegrounds, but can quest in the world with a pre-made party).
If anyone has or knows of any recent news concerning this i'd really appreciate it if they shared it. |

However, there is PvE so there has to be something like an open world, just maybe not as big. Also, there will be very few load screens which makes you think you will walk to the PvE and not have a load screen into it.

well they did say that there will be 80 different battlezones and that they will hold up to 200 players. They also said that you can get to those zones by getting onto a train and riding it there. They have the whole seamless loading thing so when you ride the train you can move around and talk to people but it's like you're loading the game at the same time. So like someone said above, it'll be instanced battles, but you travel to them, so it won't really feel instanced like you experience in WoW where you jump into a portal and watch a loading screen. Rather, you get on a train and travel there. |

Thats phat yo. I can't wait for this damn game to come out, I think i'd rather them release a date even if they were planning on moving it back, then they would start updating the release date so atleast we would know what to expect.

Coming in a bit late but one thing i can say, WoW is closed world to my opinion, you go to one place, if you want to go to another its like going to another Battle ground just larger. I mean L2 is an open world, you got no loading there except when you use teleport scroll or you go in a specific place which only came in 4th expansion, which means that it's mostly open world,, even dungeons have no loading time you just enter and kill. Onless those underground where you have to speak to a NPC which allows you to come in under specific requirements. And only then you have the closed part that you transfer yourself you another plain of existens.
So if there are 80 different battle grounds, that's much cause i doubt that WoW had that many ( i mean like Nagrand is one).

Well i acctualy think that Huxley will be Open World, i mean the fields would be open like in WoW, which i've forgoten cause i haven't played it for few month... too boring. Anyhow why i think that is that why do it closed since all MMOs have opened? Plus when people say 80 battle grounds and think that would be 80 continets closed fro meachother on different plain of existence, i believe 80 battle grounds means 80 different PvP areas. Like maps in any FPS game, like in BFs you have one map called taht and that, that's one battle ground. SO i believe that the only closed world will be is battle grounds and might be cities too, cause they are so large and have gates around them from mobs. Otherwise i think it will be open world, the PvE areas i mean.
Plus i believe that they made "closed world" dungeons in WoW for the reason of allowing only one ground and not for nay other reason, cause dungeons in game like Lineage 2 are open world and anyone can enter them. You can gather there a group to kill mobs and after super big boss or you can gather a group to kill other groups =) Anyhow, end point of my opinion is: PvE = Open World PvP = Closed World ( Battle Grounds) Dungeons = Can't say for sure...

I'd really be fine either way. Just as long as they don't have a bunch of loading screens. If it's going to be instanced then I'd like them to do it in a way that I don't really notice. If it's open world then that's just more fun and chaos :D

What would be even cooler would be if you flew in a massive jet like thing over the BG and parachuted in, that would be really cool, what would be even cooler would be if you free falled for like 30 seconds so you wouldn't be floating for like 5 minutes :D Or they could do the good ol' escape pod, and your launched out and land on the ground, whether it be violently or nicely is up to Webzen :D
