Hopefully they'll make a nice mix of more controlled instances and open world fighting :D then we can all do what we want. Just as long as there isn't a difference between gear and stuff (meaning, the best gear being in the highest level instances only and you can't really get the best stuff just from doing open world missions).
I plan to spend most of my time in PvP anyway, though I am pretty excited about what the PvE will have to offer :D |

In one article they've mentioned that you can gather group for isntanced PvE, i understand that as dungeon runs pretty much like in WoW where the dungeons are instanced. And if there is such a function there must be bosses which have awesome drops. Plus i doubt that you'll be getting drops in PvP.

Maybe it'll be a combination of drops and buying items. I kind of like how SWG did it. You save up money and have someone make you an item. I don't think we know that much info on how in depth the proffesions will be and if the armor or weapons that we might be able to make will be able to compete with drops and mission rewards (I hope they do). I like the game being run more by players:
Player 1 saves up money Player 2 crafts the best weapons around Player 1 pays Player 2 to make an awesome missile launcher Player 2 gathers the needed materials, builds the weapon and charges Player1 Player 1 pays Player 2 and both are satisfied as they go on their way. I'm not a big fan of chanced drops. Running instances over and over and over all for just a small percent chance to get a nice piece of armor just isn't my idea of fun. I'd rather work for something I know I can get. Maybe with chance items thrown in along the way. But I like the major items to be right there in front of me most of the time. I guess that system could be in an open or instanced world so idk what it has to do with this lol. I wonder if they'll have an open world with some easter eggs you can find. Like special missions that you can only get if you stumble across them, or special items you can find from certain mobs in certain areas. Nothing game changing, more along the lines of fun little things. That always makes an open world system more fun :D |

Well if you like that, you should try Lineage2. It's the game from developers of Guild Wars and all that games. Lineage came before WoW and Lineage2 came out somewhere near with WoW but it has much better graphics then WoW and harder gaming. Not just do quests and you recieve everything you need. In that game there are 5 races one of them is dwarf. Dwarfs can have 2 proffesions branches. One spoiler another craft. Spoiler spoils items from mobs athat nobody can see and craft of caurse ccrafts different armors and weapons if he finds the recipe for them. To craft the items you need lots of mats which drop both in the start of the game and in the end of it, bones, animal skin, iron and such. The percentage of items to drop by itself is extremely little so people craft items instead.
The game is MMORPG it's opened world, even dungeons are open world (except the final boss which requires more then 500 people to slay him).

hahaha 500 people, I'd love to see that battle take place. That's one major accomplishment, to get 500 people to all play attention at the same time lol.
So we've seen that they said some of the game will be in a persistant world. But doesn't that mean open world like WoW or just battlefields that kind of change depending on who wins or what happens in the world etc? If it means open world like WoW, do you think that people who pick crafting proffessions will have to search these open areas to find certain materials that just lay on the ground? Like they find a little mine and have to mine some special metal or something? (that is, assuming there will be proffessions like that of course) Or do you think all the materials will be found through questing and through instanced PvE and PvP? |

About Huxley, i doubt that mats will be on the PvP battlezones cause that place is for shooting eachother not gathering mats =) Cause that will drag attention from PvP and people will run gathering mat instead of PvP. PvE ares will have mats i believe. Maybe other PvP areas will also have but not Battle Zones.

And both Huxley and Guild Wars are MMOs because MMO = massive multiplayer online. Both have lots of players all together online. So it works out. |
