Nah, they said that there will be barely any loading screens and supposedly as of now the transition to BG's will be seamless, with no loading screen. I think atm you ride a train into it, and start pwning

lol...pre-order now :D yeah i think that will be awesome that there is gonna be hardly any loading screens, even though my awesome computer would rip thru them anyway :D

i'll hop back on track here.

The PvP portion of Huxley can't really be open world because then battles would be uneven and the side with more players would always win (unless they came up with some genious balancing idea). So they'll probably have it seem like it's open world (the whole travel to the battles with no loading screen) but it still needs to be instanced to keep the games fair number wise.

As for PvE, I don't think it would be as big of a problem just because you fighting monsters and it's not like they'll overkill a zone or something lol. But still that could lead to other people being lame and messing up your missions or something (all part of a game imo and wouldn't really matter).

I don't know why I'm saying all this though. Haven't they already said battles both PvP and PvE will be instanced and that you will travel to each battle so you don't have to go through a loading screen (the travel time will act as a loading screen because of their seamless technology or whatever)?

Im really not liking this whole instancing part :(

I understand the need for people to meet, but I would have been happier if it was world control, its going to be *Censored Word**Censored Word**Censored Word* if you spend 50% of your time in the main city and the rest of it in a battle ground or a isntanced area to quest, you cant quest near anybody else of the different faction or somebody who isnt grouped with you because its all instanced, which lost a lot of appeal to me.

Well PvP would be instanced that's no wonder cause otherwise it will be all out of the control and not fair. But if PvE will be instanced that would be very dumb since then it wouldn't be MMO. Anybody played Dungeon Runners? Where you always go alone in each dungeons unless you party and only then you play with people otherwise you're always alone but the town? That's how PvE is instanced and for me it's not MMO as they call it since you dont see other players if you aren't in a group or in town. So instanced PvE - No thanks very dumb.

the only real mmo aspect in the game is the city which cud hold 15k players its kinda dumb not to make Pve an open world or else itl just be like guild wars and phantasy star universe

Wel lthey said that "Each server will be able to hold 5k peps that means 2.5k per Capital City", that's pretty much what scares me. If they say 5k in total and 2.5k per city that kinda means, Close World? If they make PvE close world and by that i mean places will be accessable to player or players in party only and different players who dont know eachother will be only able to meet in city. I wouldn't like it cause then it would be MMO. The only reason why i can see this possible is that trey want to make the world noob-friendly since there are more noobs in this world then pro's or averages who fight for something against other players and not run around killing mobs in only PvE environment and only meet players in town since noobs can't fight for something against other players since they are noobs and they are majorty, but the game will be rated mostly from people who play game for the MMO in it not PvE Closed World Environment sealed off from other players. I just pray for PvE to be open world cause otherwise it will be another FPS/RPG where you can play SIngle player Campaign or go online to Multi-Player to shoot other people since battle zones will be 100vs100 and the queue to them will be like choosing servers from the list. BORING!

I'm pretty sure a lot of it will be instanced but you won't really be able to tell. You travel to the areas instead of just watching a loading screen and there are actually zones where there are NPC's to fight as well as other enemy players who are doing the same mission as you and can try to kill you if they want to.

Still we don't really know how everything is going to work. With the battles holding 200 players each, it will probably seem like it's open world most of the time and you'll only be forced to join a different battlefield when others are really going at it. I don't think it'll be like you just go into an instance by yourself and grind mobs.

And yeah the PvE will be instanced. That's because it's not PvE like a lot of WoW where you run around killing mobs that are placed all over the place. I think the PvE missions are more like you travel to a certain zone that has been taken over by the hybrids and then you fight waves of them and maybe kill a boss or something. The PvE might be more structered, like maybe they'll have more scripted events where the hybrids attack all together or a certain special boss comes out and does crazy stuff. It's easier to do cool stuff like that when it's in a controlled instance. And still keep in mind there are the PvE/PvP instances where you fight hybrid and other enemy players so anything could happen in there.

I don't think the instancing will take away from the game at all. I doubt I'll even notice it.

And I'll say it again. You don't just walk into a glowing wall and then wait at a loading screen. You go to a train station, get on the train with some buddies and then travel to the zone where you'll fight. You can even talk to you friends while you're traveling and maybe move around in the train or something idk. Then when you reach your destination you can choose to go somewhere else to fight off the invaders. It won't even seem like instances.

That's what I'm getting from the info presented to me anyway.

You will acquire these in much the same manner as you would in a game like World of Warcraft or EverQuest II: you'll see someone in town with a "quest-giver" symbol over her head, or else receive orders from your faction's quest officer, or what have you. from a huxley review.. as u see on the last line it says it may be instanced or persistent
and im sure u guys know what persistent means...it mean its gunna be a open world!

Well what i'm kinda worrying about is technically PS had an open world on the planets...except without PvP they had absolutely NOTHING, so from a gamers view it isn't really an open world. I'm hoping it won't be like that, although i'm sure it won't from what they've said, about how they didn't really consider PS a real mmo-fps, and some PvE screenshots iv'e seen...they look awesome.
