I'm just wondering, since one of the gametypes is labeled as death match. Correct me if I'm the biggest noob and am wrong, but thats a FFA isn't it? So everyone would just be trying to kill each other regardless of their faction?
Wouldn't that kind of defeat the purpose of fighting battles to gain control of certain areas for your faction? or will there be special games or something that don't really matter for just FFA death match? |

It doesnt have to be, deathmatch (dm) and team deathmatch (tdm) are sometimes used interchangeably when talking about gamemodes. I would consider myself a DM'er but i almost never play free for all DM. Maybe because FFA dm isnt taken very seriously, in the PC world at least.
In short, just dont take what they say completely literally. There may very well be both, you could play FFA deathmatches within your own faction or clan in the town coliseum for instance (duelling would never affect the game world anyway) to polish up your skills. We just dont know what will be possible. |

True, I just figured since they said deathmatch and team deathmatch, they would have both types. Your probably right about the FFA deathmatch being just like little duels in an arena or something, that would be cool just to mess around in.

they can put any game type they want into the game, just have it not effect the world outside of xp and rank. im sure there will be people who get into the DM aspect and dont play the big world changing battles at all. im sure people will have characters set up for both or at least be able to switch to one setup or another.

Yea, I just didn't really think about it at first.
When I saw Deathmatch, the first thing that poped into my head was a picture of 200 people randomly spinning around in circles spraying bullets everywhere as they jump around like crazies. All for no apparent reason, since they would be killing their own faction amidst the chaos I get it now though. And it would be fun to be able to challenge rival squads from your own faction to see who was best. Or who gets to be squad leader or something |

I read somewhere that they would have a 1v1 and 5v5, etc type arena were you did deathmatches and stuff but you didnt even use your own character.
It randomly generates a character for you and thats what you use to duel. |

it would be cool if they had something like that. If you just want to hop on and play randomly for a bit, quick join a deathmatch, not worry about getting your character killed or something.
Anyone know if the randomly generated characters will be like level ones with no special skills, or higher level characters depending on your characters level in some way? |

I would think it'd make the most sense to just let you choose your loadout. That way you could try out new skill and equipment sets without being in an official PVP environment. Of course it wouldn't be hard to have different types of rule sets for different arenas; maybe 1 is randomized, 1 everyone has the same stuff, another you choose whatever loadouts are available to your character, etc.

"honestly i think the biggest part of this game will not be DM, cuz it can get old after a while"
Blasphemy People play dm over and over cause its simple and it is considered "leet". I mean look at instagib, it gets old after the first 20 seconds but people play it like crazy and think its tEH ULTiMatE SkILL GaeM. "CTF usually becomes the dominant gametype in any FPS that has it." Lies! ok ok I actually have no idea, but I started with ctf myself, I am teh uber flagrunner. Also, nothing comes close to UT CTF, so unless Huxley does something really neat I will find it boring. (no vehicles in ctf is not neat) |

Did they say the CTF is going to be like gathering parts and bringing them back to your base? so it'll be like multiple flag runners at one time, while eveyrone else just tries to kill anything they see? That would be pretty new :D.
I'm looking forward to the games where you capture points, and if they have any games that are focused on assualt or defense of a base. |

those are two different gametypes.
they have both CTF and part pickup. and ya, pretty much like lots of flags except that they're robot parts, first team that collects 'em all wins. theres also CnH gametype where you fight for control of radar towers. |

Hmmm I wonder if you can even see the robot. Or if it's just like, your throw the parts down a hole and never see them again lol. That would be a kind of anti-climactic way to end a battle lol. Hopefully they do something cool :D

It would be extremely easy for them to implement at least a cinematic, where it shows your walker or w/e just like tearing through the enemy's base or something.
If anyone has played Jailbreak for Quake or UT series, you'll get the general idea of how that could all work with their execution scenes. |
