I don't know the game seemed to move at a very fast pace in the trailers.....with the number of people playing at once it seems like the game to constantly get shot in the back if you hide all the time

Even with the fast pace of the game, urban area's allow for sniper combat as well. In the book Sniper written by a sniper squad leader who fought in urban combat, sniper squads work very well, taking out leaders and commanders, and moving quickly to other vantage points. If you have 2 Avengers, working with a Phantom, the Phantom knows he will be safe and can take out multiple enemies without moving for some time.

well with 1vs 3 of course they are gonna run the show....i was simply speaking for the times poeple just go off there own..

its already been said squads can use counter sniper strategies as well

It would not always be 1v3, if there is as much squad based action as I think there is it will be 3v5 constantly. The Avengers would hold the building while the Phantom can get in some well placed shots and get the enemy to keep their heads down. This will allow for other squads to advance on positions, destroying the enemy.

Well, just think of that little bit of paranoia lurking in the back of your mind at all times adding to the realism of the game. Always feeling like someone's watching you even when you think there's nobody there... until you hear that shot in the distance. Heheh.

I wonder if getting shot will take the sniper out of zoom mode or whatever.

So like, if a sniper is kind of out in the open shooting at you and he's too far away for you to have good accuracy, you can just kind of spray bullets his way and if one hits him, he gets kicked out of zoom mode.

I don't really think it would be a problem if it did or didn't if snipers only have one bullet per mag. just wondering though

hopefully ther will be options like silencers like low medium or max silenced either clip or bolt action armor piercing or high velocity rounds or scope type like low zoom medium zoom or max zoom or bi pods which will increase accuracy and rifle types like anti personal anti vehicle they gotta have sumthn like a version of the 50. cal or a rifle that is similar to it and how many rounds you have or front loading clip like on a dragonov or back clip like on a aug/bullpup imagine the possibilities

about the healing thing the original poster talked about, anyone know if thats gonna b part of this game? healing? if it is i thnk it should b like only certain certified ppl can do it or somethin, like combat/field medics that can keep your ppl alive. jus think it should b somethin more creative then the same old press this button to heal. (bran new to this game so dont know nothin bout it , looks tight tho )

absolutely, i used to play unreal championship (first one) a lot and used that sniper/lightening cannon thing and that game is real fast pace like this and i loved that thing, took a long recharge between shots, but it only takes one head shot

I think most of you are over hyping snipers , I doubt they will be the overplayed class. This game leads more towards unreal tournament, with the fast moving rocket launcher shooting good noobiness, and less CS, which will make it harder for a sniper. The overplayed class if anything will most likely be enforcer, avenger perhaps. In this game it will probably take a good sniper rather skilled to know his role and keep up with the other classes.

Isnt the fact that it's being over-hyped serve as evidence that it will be overplayed? Everybody (EVERYBODY) will try a sniper weapon just to try it anyway, and many people on this forum plan on making it their first and primary weapon. Sure, some people will realize they suck with it and move on; but we cant expect everybody to be that perceptive.
