Default PvP Gametypes

So far the only gametypes ive heard about from huxley are the following.

-Freeform Deathmatch
-Team Deathmatch
-Capture the Flag
-Radar domination
-Part pickup

Quote:
Radar domination requires two opposing teams to try to capture and hold various radar towers throughout the map by holding the area nearby, similar to the Battlefield series' conquest mode. Part pickup requires teams to scavenge various robot parts on the battlefield in a competitive race to see which team can assemble a gigantic mech first. When you pick up and carry a part, you'll act much like the flag carrier in a CTF game--if you're taken down, you'll drop the part and give the enemy a chance to recover it.
I like part pickup, it's a nice spin on CTF.
I like the CnH in radar domination
I dont like the fact that for an MMO that ive only heard of 5 gametypes
Yes planetside is almost exclusively CnH. and yes, it gets boring.

So.
Any gametypes YOU would like to see in Huxley?

I'll start with an old favorite of mine from T2:

Siege- Team A defends a base while Team B attacks, once team B captures the base, the teams switch sides. Team A now has to capture the base faster than team B did or it loses.

Destroy the HQ - From bf2142, you have to fight towards the enemy's floating command center, launch missiles to disable the shields, board the enemy ship, blow up the reactor, and escape.

I'm a call of duty player so i want to see some search and destroy objective type games. My favourite part about search and destroy is that you only have 1 life per round, it makes it so much more intense.

siege would be awesome! That's one place where they could implement a destructive environment. Even if thats the only gametype they do it in, it would be worth it.

but when you think about it 5 is alot of game types for a MMO....PLanetside is Conquest only and so is BF2....while this game has 5 of course the more the merrior tho...im satisfied with the first 5 as they sound very interesting but im not going to sit here and say they can stop cuase they should go the extra mile for this game.

I think 5 types is ok but they should definitly add more, I'd like to see a search and destroy game type.

that siege sounds awesome for organized competitive play. clan vs clan. we know that they are going to have 4 man squads, 5 squad platoons, and 5 platoon companies. so each game type could have maps for squad, platoon, and company level battles. can you imagine trying to hold off 100 guys attacking your fort?

man i cant wait to try this game out.

I would like to see Assasination like from Gears of War. It would really put stealth to the test. I think it would be fun to infiltraite a base undetected, assasinate and important leader, and then escape...

To tell you the truth I am not that excited about DM. Generally with this many players I just see a zergfest. What I want is assault and defend. I guess PS players refer to it as conquest.

I don't think they'll have 100 vs 100 DM lol. I have another post about it and we figured DM would only be for duels and stuff like that

Of course. That would definitely be the best game type in the game. Having high walls, enemy sieging you left and right. But what I really want to see is a bridge fight. The enemy trying to fight across the bridge, but your doing all you can to make sure they don't get across. I guess it's just protecting valuable points on the map.

I really hope they have a lot of those kinds of maps

Here's a few more gametypes, best suited for 20-50 people total, ther all from Tribes 2

Hunters- Kind of like DM, however u don't get points just for killing. Every kill yields one flag which sits on the dead body until someone collects it. The only way to score it to bring one or more flags to the center of the map (in T2 it was called the nexus). The more flags you bring to the nexus the more you score for each flag.

Team Hunters- Same as above, but players' points count toward their team total

Rabbit- One flag sits in the center of the map at the beginning. The object is to grab and hold on to the flag for as long as possible while the rest of the pleyers try to kill you. Every second gave you one point plus one point for grabbing the flag in the first place. You loses the flag when you die, someone else picks it up, chase begins again. Somehow i think the only reason it worked it because you had jet packs that added a third dimention to the fight and you could shoot the flag and make it jump like 10 feet. It was fun as hell though with like 20 players.

Bounty- One of the best Everybody gets to be a bounty hunter.
Match begins, on your screen it tells you what player to kill (randomly selected), you get no points for offing someone else. The only catch is that the other player is also searching for you! Whoever gets the kill first gets the points for that bounty, and the computer selects a new target for each of you.

All the gametypes + All the missions + Leveling up + Items= Long Good Fun
So not much need to worry, there will be other things to do on top of the (probably incredibly fun) PvP games. : - )

there will be built-in jump packs for boots on this game, so it might happen
