i have been wondering about this for a while. Will higher level players be more likely to win a PvP battle against low-level players? What i mean to say is, will the PvP aspect revolve directly around how much experience a character has or will the battles revolve mostly around skill. I remember when i played FoM, and a noob could beat a seasoned veteran if he had good enough aim and style.
I know this is also in relation to the type of weapon a character uses in battles. Will licenses grant you the use of a higher powered weapon? or can anyone buy any weapon if they have enough money? |

Nope, I don't believe it will. Now, I do believe that high levels will have an upper advantage because of better weapons and/or armor, but I think think that it's really the skill that matters.
I wouldn't necessarily think of levels but more of like skill levels on specific guns you know? Like you'd have to have 25 skill in Machine Guns in order to have a specific one or maybe some kick ass weapons won't have skill requirements. It's hard to tell when not a whole lot (PVP-wise) has been said. |

Higher level characters will do better, but the more skilled player will win. This is a skill or "twitch" game. Like a normal FPS but with higher level players getting more guns/money to use to buy guns.
In this way a FPS is more balanced against a player who has played forever but doesn't know how to react to a new situation.

Try Nexiuz its a great freeware FPS that's insanely good. Not many servers with people, but I might use my own computer to make one. Will be called LotF Server, and you can play on it. If you don't want to play online or have bad lag you can make your own server with bots. I recommend the Blue Sky map. Especially if you turn off gravity in game options. Have Fun!

Ya it's great when you have it on no gravity on a LAN party and you have the rocket launcher who's secondary fire is to explode the when you click right mouse button.

Bah CS:S. Counter Strike will always be the enemy to the cultured video game connoisseur. If you've ever read Ctrl Alt Del you would know the hatred we feel for your kind, the CS n00b who think CS is better than any game. Oblivion anyone?

Hey I'm gonna do a forum search of all the times Decent said *Censored Word* and count it up. Cause it's got to number in the several hundreds. I mean come on! You don't need to put that in every post. It makes you sound even more dumb than you actually might be. I have this discussion with my commie friend all the time.

Okay, so your "twitch" concept pretty much refers to most, if not all, FPSs. I do like BF2 the best though. It's different and has more mature players than others. I also enjoy Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. But yeah, shooters are the best of any genre. You have to be good, not look good.

Hey.. i resent that lol. you are putting all CS:S players into the same category. However i do agree that your statement applies to a large demographic of CS:S players it does not describe all of them. Like me.. i love oblivion and i love CS:S. But i do not boast that CS:S is the best game ever created; it is not. but its a good game and im sure if you gave it a try you would probably get really addicted and spend countless hours on it. back to the topic though. I read above by a senior member Ghos7 who said that all weapons do the same damage. is this true? and will new weapons be available only by obtaining new licenses? |
