Here are the official system requirements:
Minimum CPU: P4 2.4GHz RAM: 1GB Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 6600 Operating System: Windows XP Hard Disk: 6,000MB Direct X: DirectX 9.0c Recommended CPU: P4 3.0GHz RAM: 2GB Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 7600 Operating System: Windows XP Hard Disk: 6,000MB Direct X: DirectX 9.0c Last edited by gobbly2100; 13-09-2007 at 11:06 PM. |

Not that I don't trust you :P but the obvious question is going to be: link?
Doesn't it seem a bit odd that the minimum and recommended RAM/GPU are the same? :P Anyway if those minimum specs are correct, it suggests that Huxley will be another U3 engine game that doesn't require Shader Model 3.0 support, which is a good sign for people with older GPUs but decent processors. |

ok if someone can understand what im asking P4 @ 3.0 Ghz how does that compare to a core 2 duo at a lower freq or a Q6700 at 2.66 Ghz?

Go to Tom's Hardware - Computer Hardware News, Tests, Ratings and Reviews and look on the CPU charts

Will this be good enough
I'm planing to buy a new laptop but I wanted to be able to be at the minimum levels at least, for huxley. I have 2 xbox360 and 1 original xbox, so spending money on a gaming pc is out of question. But I do need to get a new laptop, so I found a Toshiba for $800 2 G Ram 1.9 or 1.5 (not sure) AMD Dual core 200 HD and a dedicated video card with 128 MB (netvia) or something like that. Sorry for all the litle info but I don't talk very good geek Thanks |

By making the game run on a wide variety of machines, which is done in part through the unreal engine technology stuff, you allow the game to be played (a.k.a. bought...... $$$) by more people and can then make more money from it. If the game could only be played by a few people with mammoth machines, then there would be no point in making servers that could support 5000 people. Of course the easy fix for that is for you to buy everyone a better PC.

That engine takes advantage of dual core systems and is made specifically to work with Nvidia's SLI stuff. With the Q6700, you will have a very long shelf life. If you don't like it running at 2.66, go and get a bad ass air cooler and overclock the cpu to 3.6. Those line of chips are ridiculously easy to overclock. You can get it stable at 3.6 EASILY as long as you tweak the voltage settings correctly. I have my Q6600 running stable at 3.6ghz on air (cpu comes stock at 2.4) The temps and voltages are also very much in the safe zone so you don't have to worry about shortening life of your cpu. It also won't break your cpu warranty since the voltages are not higher than what intel recommends. No need for water cooling unless you want 3.7+ |
