Ok, I'm not sure how to check all my computer stats. When I bought this machine, I just visited my local computer shop and asked them to hack together a monster that could run Elderscrolls: Oblivion on max.
Well, it can. But would I then be able to run Huxley on this thing? |

My guess: probably (I would say certainly, but that would be a lie since the game isn't out yet obviously). Oblivion is pretty intense on the hardware, so a system that can run it on high will probably be able to handle Huxley (although perhaps not on highest settings).
And the most simple/thorough way to get your system info is probably to go to Start->Run and type dxdiag |

Hey, thanks dude! You just made this pc...stuff a whole lot easier. I've had trouble figuring out this stuff. Mostly I just guess.
Hm, seems I have a 2045 MB RAM memory... is that good? |

Oh.... I had sort of thought / hoped my computer was "godly" compared to normal computers.
Well, if my computer's not good enough, it's just to upgrade it. Don't know what I'm so worried for. |

Crap. 4gb? I'm planning on uprading my (incredibly bad as of right now) computer, and I wanted to upgrade it so I wouldn't have to upgrade for games for awhile. If games are going to start using 4gb of RAM soon, how much should I get?

Vista supposedly gains a lot of day-to-day performance from 4 gigs of RAM since it uses that whatever-they-call-it to load commonly used apps totally into it, and having 4 gb vs 2 or even 3, it gives it a lot more room to play with for that. Doesn't help at all with games (or XP) though.
I wouldn't expect 4gb to be too common for awhile still... DDR3 is just hitting the consumer market and with faster models of DDR3 on the way, you'll likely be seeing dual 1-gig DDR3 sticks with fast timings as the top of the line for gaming. For now it seems like increasing speed is helping more than increasing quantity; that may be partly be due to deliberate design by game designers, not sure. |

personally i would worry so much about getting 4gb of ram, would concertrate on getting a better graphics card or processor which will make the bigger differance now. 4gb is all well and good but unless acompanied by a gf8800gtx then 4gb is a waste.
I fully upgraded my pc just before intel dropped prices (doh!!). but now it runs evrything mint. only got 2gb ram but i have got 2x raptor hardrives to increase booting times and game loading times. followed by a e6600 c2d. and 8800gtx 2gig cosair ram and a x-fi 64mb sound card (asus e-sli mobo).. in the end you need a balance in your pc hardware or else you will get a bottleneck of info on the slowest part. which is what i had before the upgrade. went from the amd fx55 single core to the e6600 dual core.. |

There's been some talk about maybe it'll be exclusive to Windows Vista, but I don't see how Webzen can do any profit in it. I mean. Vista is new to the market, and at the moment it suck donkeyballs. 12 out of 15 players are getting it for PC, and I bet maybe 1 or 2 of them has Vista. Would you be willing to pay like 200 to 400$ for an OS that suck only to run one game? I hope Webzen realizes this before it's too late. Just take a look in any other topic, and you'll see all my whiny hate-posts about Vista.

Yeah, vista right now is no where worth it, I would wait close to a year or perhaps more for them to get it set up, when it does it'll blow away any other OS.
For my comp im just gonna stop screwing around upgrading home-media like computers just meeting the requirements of games, and just going to go all out and get a alienware. I figure I wont really have to have any kind of serious upgrade for years, and I can probably keep it well into my college days (still in high school). What makes this stand out from home media computers, it will carry the extra slots for duel everything, 4 ram slots, incase I ever need to upgrade it to keep up with games. |

Well to check what you got you can do "Start -> Run -> Dxdiag -> Saves the file" whe you run that and save it, it has all info about your comp and there you can check out what is good or bad, if you know and understand.
Or for simple info go to "My computer -> Show System Information" I believe its in left upper corner. There you got short about your comp. Plus on xFire profile you can upload your rig, it will figure out your rig automaticly once you click "Upload my rig". PS: Quote:
