Either I'm confused about how this game is set up, or some other folks are... but here's what I'd figured from what I've seen/read so far:
You won't be mixing with the other species. You'll only see them in situations where you're in conflict. I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as non-PVP interaction between them as far as gameplay goes. If you go to an area where they are and decide you'd rather sit and have tea, that's completely possible, but if they decide to shoot you afterwards, they'll be able to. At the same time, I don't think there will be any type of PVP against your own species, except in the arena-style battles. Basically there's 4 types of areas in the game: safe cities, arena-style fights with no xp on the line, pve missions, and pvp battle zones. The only time you'd fight your own race/species/whatever is in the arenas, and the only time you wouldn't necessarily be pitted against the opposing one would be if there's some PVE mission where both of you end up needing to cooperate somehow or another to survive. |

yeah, the other team is kill on site. they will never be in your city and you will never be in theirs, the only way you will interact with the enemy is by killing them. it would be pretty lame if you were walking down the street heading to the market and a sniper on your team shoots you in the back of the head. i cant really think what else a 'pvp' server would mean.

As far as we know, the main cities are only accessible by the people who live there.
There's been some suggestion that there might be outposts that can be controlled by organizations, but those would really fall more under a persistent battleground category than a city itself. |

yea i think that there should be maybe certain raids where one side attacks the other sides city and the people in that city have to defend it, it could turn out to be all out warfare back and forth!! =D

No, I don't think so. I've seen pictures where people from different factions, not exactly talking, are in the same city(safe city I suppose), and their just a few meters away from each other, not trying to kill each other. And, with the outpost thing, I'm pretty sure clans will be able to have their own special building in a safe city, for all their buisness needs.

People are still stuck in a WOW frame of mind. You don't need a city to have something to attack... any kind of resource point or strategic location is just as effective (and actually more useful since you can do something with it). And these will be specifically designed for being attacked/defended. The whole premise of PVP in this game is going to be controlling important points, to some degree. So I would imagine most of your playing time will be spent attacking or defending something of importance. I would rather spend my time defending something that I KNOW is being attacked than sitting around guarding something that may never see any action.

yea i really wasn't thinking when i made that other post, good point...but if you do get things from your fallen enemies in PvP, there is going to have to be a way to go and get the items from the fallen enemy. break cover and run out to get the items etc. and you get gunned down...see what i mean?

yeh or a houses to house battle were you get your enforcers take out shotys and clear out the house and then fortify the place with sandbags and then when you take control of the city you get a medal or special armor or weapon.

My opinion is PvP all the way, i play wow and i have never made a normal server character, why ? because theres no action if i see an enimy i want to kill them, if they see me i expect they should do the same none of this flagging crap there an enimy they shouldent have godmode because there killing npc's. With regards to connection when this comes out im moving my pc to my router for a direct cable so my wireless doesnt screw up like it likes to do now and again.
with regards to towns there should be a sanctuary were there is a weapon lock so you can make peace gather up find a clan or guild whatever, other then that other towns should be fair game to raid capture or whatever else u feel like doing to it. |

this is true, after reading most of the forums i haven't seen a single person talking about fighting the hybrids, every1 is more worried about the opposing players. The biggest focus of huxley will be pvp and the servers will run with this in mind
