keyboard and mouse because it's too difficult to switch from joystick to keyboard and mouse in a firefight.
to theredraven: I'm looking for an experienced airforce pilots. |

i think ill be sticking with the keyboard and mouse- oh and yea those foot pedal things would be very good for acceleration or mabye you could set them so they controll the speed of the ground vechiles so in that case you can easily get out and fight without having to muck around to much just take your feet of the pedals

It depends, if if is like Planetside's flight system (which is hard to control and has very hard limits in controlling an aircraft) I'd go with keyboard and mouse. If it was more complicated and allows you to do a lot more maneuvering I would use a joystick.

Depending on how it plays I will be using a mouse and keyboard, that is unless there is a form of jet that fly's like the ones in the BF series (excluding the vertical take-off and landing jet's in BF2 and more so in 2142), if they do handle like a normal jet then a joystick would be a must because of the advantage when turning and dogfights.
Still aside from a jet a mouse and keyboard are definitely the easiest for controlling the aircraft, I have used that set-up to fly heli's in the BF series (since Vietnam and Desert Combat (1942)). Of course a mouse is hard to learn at first much in the same way as a joystick but you don't need that much movement to control a heli effectively for any situation. But considering the style of the game I see it handling like UT2004, fast and easy to jump into but with loads of depth to master it. Here's hoping it will be fun either way. :P |

That depends on how realistic (or complicated) the crafts fly. If its like flight sim real I already have a really good joystick and foot pedals ready. If its more arcade style I'll be showing off my ace combat experience on a gamepad (probably 360 controller). I only had a little experience on planetside but if it's like that trying anything besides mouse and keyboard may not work.

shows flying vehicles we can safely assume are being piloted by players. |

Anyhow i love flying things in all games.. for example my favorite Battle Field series, i like flying and killing people. All though i really hope there will be some possibility to do insane tricks.. cause i love the adrenaline!!! PS: Joy-Stick? More like Enjoy-Stick for women tbh... Keyboard and mouse ftw ^^

I usually do horrible my first times using vehicles in every game.
On Halo for Xbox, I was driving the hog after my friend told me not to. And I almost drove it off one of those cliffs that lead you to your death. Helicopter in BF2; found a small one, got in with some other people, and we barely were able to ditch it onto a roof top. But that rooftop was some awesome campage.(Mission Accomplished?) |

I play BF pretty often (BF2/BF2142) and there i fly things and people (my gunners) often ask me if i use joystick, i just cant understand why they think that... I mean is playing with joystick better? With keyboard and mouse i fly insane and killl everythig that moves ^^ Joystick stinks ^^

Haha idiota! (Just joking^^)
They use both joystick and keyboard in airplanes... Panel is the keyboard and the joystick is just to control right left down and up ^^ Plus in real life you feel the diffrence in what you do when you pull the stick and in game you dont feel it with you whole body :P So you cant really compare gaming to real life in this case... Cause in real life it's a mix between them both =)

id have to say mouse and keyboard becuz this seems like the sort of fast paced combat where one second u could be mowin down people in a helicopter and the next having to make an emeregency exit behind enemy lines
