A bunch of recalls on the 8800-series prior to release, but indeed that card is a monster. Just check this out:
http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphi...=585&chart=199 http://www.sweclockers.com/imagebank/30fa3/lrTwWl.jpg The little brother, GTS, isn't that bad either: http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/97...ion/index.html My guess is that the 8800-series will run Huxley just fine, but Huxley is most likely about 6-9 months away and a lot is going to happen with the DX10 graphics cards. |

It will run less FPS than the next card to come out around the time Huxley is finally released. Whitch is why I will wait till the game is out to upgrade.
Awsome card though, smokes my x800xt pe I have now. Make sure to let toast know when you put it on your will to him for he can make sure its sooner than later

Toast after you get it make sure it's in your will to give it to me, "(cause it may be sooner rather than later)"

I'm going to agree with Mikkado - probably best to wait for it to come out to upgrade as newer cards and hardware will probably be out by then

Well it seems that the new 320mb version of the 8800GTS is running R6 Vegas (another U3 engine game) at pretty decent speeds (and with virtually no drop in performance from the regular 640 version :o), and that card is supposed to retail for around $300.
If ATI ever gets on the ball with new hardware, we could see some really high performance/price later this year. |

It blows the GX2 out of the water. I have a GX2... it's really not that good. I would rather have just bought a 7900 GTX. I will upgrade to the next video card after the 8800 once Crysis comes out.
I am sure your 8800 GTX will play Huxley amazingly. The real question is, how much RAM do you have? MMOs suck sooo much RAM, it's rediculous. I hate ATI. bleh. |

i'll be getting one in a few months. I could easily buy one now, but I dont see why. There are no games I have that need it. I have a 512mb 7950. Probably will get it by time huxley comes out, unless there is something better

yes, but the AMD 2900 will run it better as will the 8800 ultras and probably a myriad of other cards that are likely to come out in the next 5-6 months before huxley's approximated release. Your card will run it fine but i hope you didn't run out and buy that for the sole purpose of playing huxley. Also any processor that is below the 3700+ or core duo will hold that card back to varying degrees. a pair of 7900's is also comparable
