Default Gamasutra Interview

Here's an interview I ran across a couple weeks ago, totally slipped my mind about posting it here. Doesn't focus solely on Huxley but it's an interesting read about what Webzen is up to these days. Page 5 is where the webzen starts but the entire is a very good read as well.
Enjoy.

Looks like payment may be a little more complex than the straight and simple monthly payment idea. Microtransactions, how exactly do those work? More active gamers pay more than less active?

Also, looks like they might integrate multiple languages into general servers instead of regional servers? Heh, I feel sorry for the American racists that hate Chinese, there's so many of them that think "farmer" before anything else. Thinking of that, wonder if they'll take any measures to prevent spam...

Would be awesome if you had to be in a marketplace to see market spam and they had a GM Police Character that shoots spammers.

Most of that's reinforcing pretty much common knowledge I'd say, but I found the last line good to know. Pretty helmets, but nothing imbalancing. Hooray for class equality!

pfft, you do know they have branches in the military to become professional gamers right? And what exactly do they become professional gamers for?

In China, there's well over a thousand farming factories and these workers range in at around 100,000 active farmers or maybe even more?

It's not racism nor racial profiling...it is fact.

These farmers are the ones who destroy and abuse the virtual economies set in place by the developers. Personally, I don't care if they're Chinese, Russian, or a freakin' Alien from the depths of space; I hate farmers and more than likely, I'll be one of the few in Huxley seeking out and destroying these farmers...and PKers.

Yes, but most Americans tend to be racist and automatically assume funny symbols means farmer spam. That is racism, to be blindly prejudiced into believing all people who speak chinese online want you to buy stuff from you. A lot of Americans with get rich quick scheme's also try to be online farmers, they just aren't as good entrepreneurs as the communists. Funny.

And you won't get to kill farmers, the entire game will be instanced so they'll be farming in perfect peace.
