That's what 4v4 is for, luckily you aren't forced to fight in certain battles with a certain amount of people you can to fight, it's going to be an option. I prefer having the option of being in a meat grinder having no recognition and being nothing more than a cog in a machine. Some people like their ego's, that's what 4v4 is for
Anyways, I think the 100v100 was confirmed in a more recent review. |

well there's different ways you can look at doing well in a game. Take Battlefield for instance. You can get 60 kills in one game, but your team will still lose. Well that's good for you, and you're definitely very good at FPSs, but getting kills isn't necessarily the best way to win a BF game. Capturing the control points gives your team points as well as giving your teammates better and closer spawning areas. So maybe you got 60 kills, but the rest of your team was stuck in the beginning spawn point, far away from the main fighting. I think Huxley could be the same way. There will be plenty of time to rack up kills, and plenty of fighting to get those kills. But in the end it'll be the people who focus on the actual game objective, rather than those who only focus on kills. I'm not saying your someone who runs off and kills as many people as he can with no regard to the game objective (I know i've tried my hardest in plenty of BF games, trying to capture as many points as I can and all that, and our team still lost), but there are definitely plenty of those who do so.

yeah, technically it's an MMOFPSRPG
we usually just keep it at MMOFPS though lol. AN mmofps where you level up and get armor/weapons and slaughter foes by the thousands!

I was kind of interested in this game. I've played planetside a lot and 400 player battles is a truly amazing gaming experience. Was kind of hoping this game wasn't as instanced as it was. Looks kind of like playing UT3 with a stat system. Hopefully the PvE pulls through. However, from the looks it seems like The Agency will have a much more thought out quest and PvE system.

Well planetside was instanced too wasn't it?
You travel to different planets, and fight the people on those planets. each planet being an instance. Same with Huxley, except they aren't planets, they're just different zones on one planet. True they haven't released much information about the PvE system, just that there will be one. But since you NEED to PvE to fully level up, I would assume they'll put a good amount of effort into it.

Planetside had no instancing. Each world was persistent. If you took over a base and left then it would still be that way forever. Instancing is like in WoW where a team jumps into a portal and it creates a whole world for them. At any one point there can be hundreds of the same world but different instances running with no relation to one another. Huxley looks like it will have tons of instancing.
I'm starting to doubt it's "mmo" title. I mean battlefield 2142 allowed 64 players on a map and kept stats on players and allowed them to unlock weapons. The only reason it isn't an MMOFPS is because it's completely instanced and has no open lobby system. Guild Wars was borderline MMORPG for these same reasons. |

We don't know if Huxley will have different instances for each zone though.
Since webzen said that the outcome of battles will affect the capital city and the player's lives. So if the saps won battle 12A but lost battle 12B, what happens? There are also screenshots of what looks like a world map, or part of one. So yeah maybe you warp to whatever battle. but it might not be like WoW and Guildwars, where there are 50 battle 12As and none of them mean anything. This is one of the main questions I have about Huxley and so far we haven't gotten a straight answer. What I'm trying to get at is. I don't think Huxley will have instancing like WoW. I think it'll be more like Planetside where you kind of travel/load to a certain zone, but there is only one of those zones, and you either control it or you don't. I could be wrong though because I haven't really seen/read any information confirming anything on that topic.

But what if the battle is really really REALLY REALLY serious...like it's inside the opposing factions capital city, Come on dude Think. Saps lose, Alts get another city...one city...with alot of guns...And more guns mean.....another battle.

That's the thing. We just don't know.
And that's kind of a deal breaker for me. It could make me really really excited to play the game, or it could be a bit of a let down. Hopefully we'll know soon enough

Nice Preview. I can't wait to actually experience the gameplay and dynamics myself.
I also wished people would have some more patience. I know it is taking a long time but atleast they're busy with the game. The day it releases.... owyeah

I'm more interested with how the battles will effect the map. Like if Saps take a crucial Alt supply point will items cost more in their shops or something like that? Would be cool but maybe too much. At least make it like Chromehounds where you have to fight battles to take each area while heading towards the opposing nations capital. Once one nation wins then the war resets. Though in CH since there are 3 nations if 1 is taken down it can resurrect itself by taking back it's capital city but that's the ONLY area they can fight in until then.

The battlezones in Huxley are supposed to be persistent.
my best bet would be that there will be places between the cities that are persistent where players can go to fight and then instances so that clans can organise a battle between each other. Hopfully it isnt all instances.
