I've been thinking lately about different games, their graphics, and how well each of them run. The most prevalent one that comes to mind is Painkiller; some of the sweetest graphics I've seen in a game, runs like a dream. Planetside, however, pretty good graphics, I personally need to turn the video settings down to bare minimum to be able to play smoothly. This incorporates human forms turning into quirky polygons at farther than 50 feet and vehicle textures looking like a big blur any farther than 10 feet. The UT games aren't quite as bad, but still not so great.
Back to Painkiller, the graphics are utterly beautiful and the game runs great even with the screen littered, ragdoll physics abound including individual parts with items exploding and body parts flying, and the graphics turned 100% to the max quality. This is the kind of performance I'm hoping to see from Huxley, but due to recent MMO choppyness (save WoW which runs beautifully at relatively high settings) things are looking grim. Anyone share my concerns? |

Dont use PS as a basis for anything performance wise. It is well known in the PS community that the coding etc was poorly done, the engine couldnt cope with the faster styles of plat (hence the surge nerf) etc, i could go on.
I expect Huxley to have pretty steep minimum specs myself - its not just running the UT engine, its running it on a bigger scale. A lot though will depend not on your own rig but how well Webzen do with their side of net, ie the quality of the sever infrastructure and coding. FPS games are more data intensive than the general RPG MMO's so this will be crucial to game performance. Hopefully they are just as concerned about that as us.

UT graphics are very nice if you have them maxed. I really have no worries about Huxley, since they are using this engine and my computer loves it.

I think you should be perfectly fine on the xbox360 becasue they make the perfect settings and you can't change them.
