nobody knows for sure. The official site says 2007, along with a number of interviews. So it will prob be around then. Retail sites are always optomistic(sp?) with release dates. Maybe if we're lucky we will get a beta this year.

Beta will be sweet though. Trust me, the best memories are made during beta, rather than after retail.

I'm still sticking with my UT2007 comparison. Huxley was still behind UT2007 development if you compare the E3 demos (what else can we look at?), and Huxley is aiming to be a much more complex game. There's also going to need to be lots of beta testing before all of the elements will be balanced well enough for a proper retail release. So unless they rush this thing, I'd expect to add at least 6 months to the release of UT2007... and probably more. Or you could try to estimate how much beta testing this game will need, and tack it on to whenever they start. Considering there's no open beta testing that we know of yet, it's still going to be quite awhile no matter how you look at it.
Through my random logical guessing, I'd say that unless we see a beta on a relatively large scale by the end of this year, there's no way we'd see it retail until after next summer. I just don't think there's any way they can fix the inevitable pile of bugs/imbalances that quickly. |

QUake Wars has slipped from a 2006 release as well, I'm beginning to wonder if any developers will pull their figners out of their arse and actually release a decent game this year, I'm expecting Supreme Commander, Medieval 2, Tabula Rasa and BF2142 to slip as well.

I've noticed that as well. There's really been no good games coming out recently. (Which leads to me being incredibly bored and digging through old games) It almost seems as if the b and c development teams of the different companies are just pumping out games for practice and not going for anything fancy until the next engines come out.
